I am looking for a CTS-V due to the amount of money i am willing to pay i am stuck in between 2009 -2010 and i think 38k with all options and less than 32k miles is a good deal but i want to see what are some of the deal / steal you got.

never seen a well optioned, clean and low mileage 09-10 under $40k. Even with mid 30K miles are in the mid to low $40K. If you found a clean one at $38K jump on it

Maybe you can find somebody who has a certain degree of senility to sell it to you for that amount, ya never know.

23K miles for 43K sounds like a good deal. What people really should be looking for is the condition of the car, was the car heavily modded and beat to crap in its former life? You could spend a ton on money on something that is outta warrantee and lived a rough life before you had it.

$38k would be a great deal depending on the condition of the vehicle.

I think I got a pretty good deal a few months back, $42k for fully loaded with recaros and had 36k miles on it. Was the best price I came across and I searched for a while before picking that one up.

ETA: '09 of course

Saw an 09 loaded with 50K+miles for $39K fairly recent. I just dont think you will see a clean, low mileage sub $40K V yet. Seems to $42-$44K seems to be the basement for a good one. Unless you can get to a dealer auction. Private seller will save you some $$$ as dealers will wait for top $$$.

My local Subaru dealer was willing to give me $37g on trade-in for my fully optioned '09 w/ 43k miles. So $38g private party is dreaming...

My 09 thunder grey V is at the dealership where I traded it in. It's loaded minus the manual trans. It has 26k miles on it and was garaged. They have it listed for $45,900 with extended warranty. It's located at Voss Cadillac in Centerville, Ohio.

I have seen multiple cars for 40-43k and after contacting the owners they are willing to negotiate i know you get around 38k for the trade in, depending on the options, so a steal would be if someone was willing to let their car go for exactly trade in or a 500 or so more. I have bought all my others cars on this principle and i always get my price as i am never in a hurry.

I bought mine a little over a year ago with 32K miles, navigation (an option in '09), ultraview roof, automatic, and standard seats (took what I could find) for 46. It was a deal compared to others I found when I was looking and I drive two hours to get it, that's how rare they were.

2010, 3500 miles,ultraview,6m,recaros,$50K bought it private seller Georgia and seller sent it to his business in Mi for me to buy, bought it Feb 2012. Like I said, sun shines on a dogs ass once in awhile. Shopped everyday for 3 months until i found this one.

I bought my CPO 2009 fully loaded with every option and 33K two month ago for $42K out the door.
I looked for a few months for the right deal and color combination. I never saw a low mileage V in great
shape for under $45K until I found mine and talked the dealer down to my out the door price. Just keep
looking and don't be afraid to travel to get what you really want.

Nice to know the 2009s are still keeping their value. I'm (weakly) thinking of trading or selling out for a 6MT V wagon and I now own my car free and clear, so the pricing information in this thread is appropriate and helpful. I'd have to sell myself to get top dollar. If only I could find a good deal on a stick wagon...or even FIND a stick wagon...but that's another thread. More than likely, I'll just keep my sedan. :)

Bob, they are out there. I've seen a few advertised myself.

While I love the idea of a manual, the wifey doesn't drive them, refuses to learn on "my" car, and traffic here is horrendous. If it weren't for the fact that it would be my DD, I'd be all over it.

Is $37,900 for a 2009 with 60k miles on it a good deal? Its a one owner bone stock. Would it be a good idea to get one with these kind of miles on it? There is a private sale of one on auto trader for 44,700 with very low miles. If my Escalade sells this weekend I will be all over that one. I looked at a 2010 today with 30k on it for $48,900.

60k is a lot of miles. Some times that is a good thing because you know the owner wanted to keep the car so he probably took care of it but if the driver was not Full throttle kind of guy 60k hard miles are not good. Also 38k is not that good of a deal i found dealers who were selling their 2009 with 30 ish miles still under warranty for 40,800 (there were two of these for sale on in MI and the other one in PA) so if i were you i would keep looking

they way i see it, this car will still be getting 40k in 5 yrs time (mileage dependent) so i'm paying less than 2 grand a year in ownership depreciation....can't beat that with a stick. i don't know how you new car guys can live with that sucker (5-6k loss pr yr) punch to the gut for the first 4-5 yrs. =]~

+1! That's why I haven't traded it in yet. I understand the dealer wants to give me a quick $45K and flip it for $49K or the first $48K offer, but they aren't going to get it from me. Dealer even admitted to giving it a detail, so no recondition to justify it. I'd rather sell it privately and "only" lose that $2K a year depreciation, $48K. Otherwise, I'll continue to enjoy it for another year and consider $46K, maybe even $45K for $2500/year depreciation. Otherwise, rinse and repeat for $43K and so on. Doesn't make sense to take the hit, I only "lost" 7K on my trade in on the V that I owned for 3 years and it had an accident on it and was offer $1K more from a different dealer.

My point was unless the Dealer is smoking something he is not going to offer 45K for a 2010 with 22k miles on it I have been doing enough research and you can read up this Thread if you have not the car is not worth more than 42-43k. I bought the first car in your post, except silver but the same exact mileage for 42K out the door. The only difference is that the person I purchased it from was the owner of the cadillac dealership and had just installed a Hennessey CAI and AR header package. Really dropping? I've never seen an American car that holds its value like these. That will change as there are more model years are produced but for a car nearly 4 years old to retain 66% of its original value is unheard of. Most cars are worth half of MSRP after 3 years. Again, with the 2013s rolling out, the 09's have experienced another drop but even with that drop, I'm pretty sure I could get more for my car than what I paid and that's not easy to do with a used car.

less than 2800 made in 09. those are collectors numbers. after they fall to rock bottom, which is mids 30's in a few yrs. they will be a hot commodity and huge bang for the buck. 87 grand nationals we 16k in 87. try and find one (in great condition modded or other) for under 20-25,000. the cts-v is a technical masterpiece and a drive train thats very affordable to tinker with. (cant say that about amg and m series cars) i think you've underestimated the market for the 2nd gen cts-v. like i said, in 5 yrs I'll still get easily 40k for a car with less than 30,000 miles.

It actually didn't happen but that's what all the guys looking for these cars would love to read so I'd figure I'd keep them placated. I get sick of all the posts, how much did you pay for your CTS-V? What did you get yours for? blah, blah, blah.

Actually I was the stupid one, I paid Herb Chambers Cadillac in Warwick R.I $66,700.00 for a brand new 2012 CTS-V this past summer which should have been a salvage title but they sold new as the car was crashed with only 26 miles on it and the dealer they got it from in NY (Yonkers Pepe) replaced the hood and right front fender without telling anybody. I must have been Bonkers to get a car out of Yonkers. I am planning on Suing Herb Chambers Warwick for selling me this piece of crap and am going to post lettering across the rear bumper warning people not to deal with Herb Chambers Cadillac as they have refused to do anything for me other than to try and blend in the paint better, line up the fender with the hood better at some god forsaken body shop that is known to keep cars for months in Braintree MA. I did not bargain for this when I bought a new car.

Thanks so much guys, you really got me thinking that the corporate offices might have more of interest in this than the local dealer and sure enough they did, I finally got a hold of the right person at corporate and she was very sympathetic to the problem and concerned that this has gone this far and says they will make good on this problem. I had also put in a call to the attorney generals office this mourning and then talked with the R.I dealer commission, he knew who I was because I use to run a used car lot here Rhode Island around 8 years ago. I guess the rule is in this state if the repairs made to the car exceed 6 percent of the value of the price of the car the repair made to the car needs to be disclosed. I would think a whole aluminum hood, the right front fender and all the other body work and paint work done to this car before I got it would exceed 6 percent.

Yes, I had it at another body shop yesterday to have it looked at and the manager claims the hood has been replaced and repainted, I think with this news the dealer is starting to take me more seriously now and will go after the dealer they got the car through. They may be getting me a new car, I don't want to take a bath on this car when I trade it in with all the work that's been done to it. The paint on the hood looks like a real thin coat too, it chips really easy. The other concern I have is it seems like the car going down the road (roads around here have a lot of bumps) does kind of a side to side type motion is this normal for these cars?
