Number1GMParts or GMPartsDirect or any of the other websites offer a catalog feature that let you look up the parts you need. Faster and cheaper than a dealership. In this case, you're looking at #15, the CTS-V air deflector. GM Part Number 25716142. $96 at Number1GMParts plus shipping.

I agree for $90 i can live without the aerodynamics. Unless i can find a used one for cheaper haha

Great to know on the parts look up fuzzy.:bouncy:

I'm thinking mine is missing? Does it give it a double duckbill look? Hard to tell on the schematic.

I can't tell based on your camera angle. See the black rubber piece under the nose of my CTS-V? It's most clearly visible below the passenger side foglamp in this picture:

Older picture of my V, but with the air deflector less in the shadows.

Has your gas mileage dropped significantly since you dont have the aerodynamic rubber piece installed?

It's alot easier just to by the push pins from Lowe's or Home Depot they have them there.

howanicm
08-26-12, 09:46 PM
My pushpins didnt fall out there was a small rip in it inbetween pushpins and it was hanging. I just removed it ill keep my eyes out for a new one thats cheaper than $90

I'm facing the same dilemma myself, I bought an '04 V a few months ago and it too is missing the lower air deflector, except in my case the little "slots" or whatever that hold the air deflector in place are damaged/ripped.

I was thinking about trying this: http://www.aveoforum.com/forum/f94/home-depot-garage-door-front-lip-8885/
Has anyone around here tried anything like this (using a garage door weather strip)?

Disclaimer: I'm new around here, please be gentle! Lol

Thats not a bad idea. Im not sure how long the double face tape would hold? Maybe if you put some small holes in it and ziptied it aswell. I simply took mine off dont think its that essential.

Btw welcome to the fourm

If you have the plastic "shield" that goes under the engine still installed, I can't fathom how much this really increases the air deflection, but if you're missing both the air deflector and the shield too, air will definitely race up into the engine bay instead of going under the car.

I could understand that but not just the rubber flap being gone

Send one my way i throw it on. For me itll probabily be an extra $40 in shipping to get it here on top of the rediculous $90. For no gain.

For no gain.

Just because we don't have test data doesn't mean that you can say that.

Seeing as he lives on Maui and probably never sees highway speeds, he's almost certainly correct - that piece doesn't do much of anything for him.

I hate to resurrect old threads, but I don't seem to have a rubber thing under my front bumper, so I am trying to look at the pictures and see what you are talking about but I cannot see it in the pictures either. Where EXACTLY does part #15 in that diagram go?

----------

Finally fonud it, went through enough pictures online and my car has never had that on the front, must have come off from the original owner or something. Time to put one on :)

Is #17 the flat plastic cover that sits under the engine? I'm missing that piece and am trying to find out what the part # is.

I think #17 is the front license plate holder that someone so kindly drilled holes in my front bumper to install.

Found it! The flat deflector that I was referring to is part #25752695. $78.82 at GMPartsDirect. The price for these plastic parts are getting retarded.

I'd home depot garage door liner that shit before paying $110 for it. My guess is it saves about .1mpg at highway speeds.

bumperplugs.com has plugs in black raven for our cars to cover those holes up. I'm using them and it covers up well.

Probably just the LS2 guys since were running truck motors. :)

That explains it. I'm putting hockey sticks on my LS2 truck to hide some junk in the paint. It's officially a hoopty as well.
