: stripped wheel stud?

Hey all,

So when removing my wheels to install my lowering springs, apparently one of my lug nuts completely stripped one of the wheel studs first set of threads (the smaller threads, not the larger threads closer to the hub). has anyone had this happen? Know a fix of it? Can I just buy a replacement wheel stud, or is it a full unit I would have to replace? Any idea on price? i'm rocking 4 lugs right now, and it's going fine, I just dont want to stay like that for too long.

Thanks!

Might be able to chase it with a die or even carfully file it clean until the lugnut goes on. Are you sure its the stud and not the lugnut. Replacing a stud is not that hard. Use an airhammer to knock it out and torque a open nut on the stud to draw it back in. No biggie

the lugnut is wrecked, as is the stud. I"m having to order a new lugnut right now, but i'm worried about the stud.

usually the lug is softer than the stud on purpose so that you dont hurt the stud. Replacing the stud is no biggie, order both
