Am kind of looking for a CTS-V or EXT right now. Like this CTS-V, but it is a long ways away from me. Anybody know anything about it? It is almost exactly what I am looking for. THoughts on price?

Thanks,
Mark

That V is NOT overpriced. It already has $5K+ mods not to mention the labor (another $3Kish) involved to get it at that level so it really depends on how you look at it. Got to see how truly clean it is. But 50K is not out of the question. There is always room to negotiate and it appears he used good quality parts.

Now personally, I like to start with a stock vehicle and do my own mods, but with how safe mods are on the V it would not scare me off at all.

modded parts never sell with the car. they are a gift, and modded cars are also a bigger liability as there is no warranty on the drive train. for that reason modded cars resale much lower. if it was bone stock with that mileage. 48-50k is close to market value. do to him voiding his warranty, he must start the price below market value. then again, there is an ass for every seat...i wouldn't bite, but thats just me. 45k and I'd consider weighing said issues.
the best bet is to return it (car) to stock (a little shady imho) and sell as such, then ebay your hp parts. problem solved, and you get the most return on your investment. some folks run into money issues and have to part fast, this most likely is that kind of sale. dont believe his headline hype, he'll take 45. ;)

You can get a 2010 for that price.

Thanks for all the input guys. Thought $50k was a little high. Also found an 2010 stock white aiot without recaros blacked out chrome and wheels, clear bra it has 44k miles though and he is asking $45k. Course I found a local 07 white ext w/ 44k miles for $33,500 and migjt just go that route.

Larry, I kind of agree about the doing the own mods. I would almost rather buy the white one with only cosmetic mods then send it to Lingenfelter for the 700hp package.

An 07 V1 is very different from an 09-up V2.

^^^Understatement of the day. Plenty of fast modded V1s out there but they are different animals from V2s.

A couple K less on that 2010 and you'll be good.

I have seen this car in person , as he lives 10 minutes from me. I actually was interested in an exhaust system he was selling that came off that car(never ended up buying the system, but met and BS'd with the owner for a while). The car is in fact very clean and sounds very healthy. The owner has a few other toys as seen in the ads pics, so I see what he means about not needing to sell it. Go look at it and make him and offer. He was very friendly and seemed pretty down to earth when we met.

I sense a trend.

Yup, I looked at his exhaust right around when I emailed you about yours (figure around the end of May/early June). I didn't like the way his was welded/pieced together, so I passed. And your exhaust was painted black and cut. I decided to buy a NIB SW catback for just few bucks more then what you were selling yours, "used" for. I specifically told you I was unsure what I wanted to do at the time, exhaust wise, and told you not to wait around for me. Is there is problem with that?

I was busting your balls. But a few bucks more huh?

Yup, less then $900 OTD(shipped to a local SW vendor and no tax). Great deal and I got it in 4 days. You said you wouldn't take less then $750, plus I would have had a 6 hour round trip to pick it up(gas+tolls+my time). So yes, a few bucks more for new system. Did you put yours back on yet?

Thanks guys. When I was talking about the 07 I should have capitilized EXT. The 07 I was looking at is a Escalade EXT in white. The 09 cts v is out in New Jersey while I am by St. Louis Missouri, so I would have to fly out and buy and drive back or buy sight unseen and have it shipped to me.

There are services that will go scout a car for you and make sure its worth the trip to buy a car.
