: Gordon Wins at Pocono

Wreck on last restart before huge thundercell rolls through allows Gordon to jump from 5th to 1st.

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning causes NASCAR to call it just before lightning shuts off the ESPN feed.

Huge Thunderstorm in the Poconos?

Pffft. I don't follow these shenanigans. I only clicked because it said "Pocono"

Funny story: A family friend owns that race track. Too bad Pennsylvanians don't actually watch the race. (And anyone can spot a tourist or someone from out-of-town from a mile away)

And 1 was killed and another critically injured by lightning strikes after the race was called...

^Sounds like a typical day in the mountains. Tourists don't understand how little thunderstorms work and the thunderstorms, favouring the locals heavily, use this to their advantage.

Floridians cry every time it rains a little. Heaven forbid they ever saw real weather.

In Las Vegas though, we celebrate when it rains. It happens very, very rarely. Usually, it evaporates before it makes it to the ground anyway, so unless you're looking up, noticing it is mysteriously cloudy, you will never see the rain. I knew some people who lived there for three years and moved away. Their reason for moving? They lived there three years straight and never saw any rain.

Luke: That's some serious overkill.

Anyone ever notice that the : party : Emoticon accurately represents a few of our regular Forum members if you look at it closely enough at some of the little smilies?

Double post, but since it accurately represented my joy, it stays :D

There's some forum members in there? Such as?

My condolences to the family of the fan who died, and those who were injured.

The lucky guy was Junior. After his transmission blew he was sitting in 32nd place at the restart. JJ ran into Kenseth and wrecked him. When it was all over Junior still had the points lead.

Kenseth, haha.

Kenseth, haha.

You know, that's exactly what I think when I hear that wuss's name.

Gordon's coming. His luck has FINALLY changed! :D

 Good one! He is definitely NASCAR's resident crybaby. If somebody looks at him wrong, he bawls. Johnson didn't take him out, he just got loose and slid into him. Kenseth just didn't have the skill Johnson did to powerslide out of it.

Yeah, that was just close racing. Kenseth racing for the lead and making it tight pulled some side force off of Johnson. Same thing with the 2 behind them.

Kenseth was whining in post race interviews. He was just as responsible as Johnson was.

And while I like Biffle, he's a bit of a whiner, too. He was asking why Johnson gets his spot at the caution while he was pushed back. Video showed they were both where they were supposed to be at the caution...

Biffle's not too bad. He'll hoot for a bit, but he'll pack up and move on. Kenseth is probably still whining about Gordon's 06 Chicagoland win. Gordon said in a post race interview about whiners that he's "been dealing with this off Kenseth for years."

Bowyer had it coming. He had no reason to cut Jeff's tire down.

Of course. That's why Jeffie won't be punished.
