Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Not my style, but WOW that car is crazy. If you want attention you will get it. Is that paint or wrap?

It is a wrap...you are right people typically LOVE it or HATE it! I love it and the attention is insane. Funny thing...most car enthusiast don't like the flash! I tell you one thing...women love it!

I would not say I hate it, but I don't love it. But it sounds like its working for you. Just like I dont love lambos or Porsche's but I will still look at them.

Interesting......the wheels are just not my style but props for doing something different.

Not for me but all that matters is you and the ladies like it.

I went the other way and de-chromed my Sedan. It looks like they did a nice job with the wrap. Too flashy for me, but all that matters is you like it.

I love the chrome wrap, but those wheels are ghetto fabulous atrocious. Why not do some nice chrome wheels that are five spoked, wide, and sporty?

Anyways, great job being ambitious!

The chrome wrap is on point, but the rims do NOTHING for the personality of that car. Also, I think some blk chrome (base color) with contrasting silver detailed V-badges are in order.

looks like the avenger lambo from team Salomone. looks cool, but as stated those rims are an abomination. let those monster break calipers shine through. new wheels and it's a bad-ass one of a kind american monster. all-n-all, i like it. minus the cheap wheels. ;)

did someone plug flight of the navigator in this thread?

I remember watching that when I was 6, or 7... or some other age a long, long, long time ago.

as for the car, the chrome wrap is unique certainly, I think maybe the rims turn me off a bit to the whole package though, it's a sport's car, possibly the polished regular V rims or some other 'sporty' rims would look better.

Maybe with different wheels

I think the wheels are fine. That way some won't even suspect how fast the car really is. Theyll think its a car for looks only. I like the idea of a sleeper car.

Wheels are butt ugly and prolly weigh a ton.

May god forgive me....I admit I do like it.... it is not anything I would do... but I would thumbs up it in traffic....Agree on the wheels... Lose them.

Called my wife over to the computer to see it.. I said.. I want to do THIS to the wagon.... Her response was.... " Not NO... HELL NO!"

Although it might look even cooler on my Elise... hmmmm... she TECHNICALLY did not say NO to the Elsie.........

I'm with everybody else, don't understand the wheels.

The wheels detract from the technical look of the vehicle. The wrap looks pretty cool. There is nothing wrong with different and it looks like you are pulling it off.

I would let my dog piss on those wheels...

Here in Kalifornia they would ticket you for glare to oncoming cars. Unless of course you can convince them that your helping the enviroment by reducing your carbon footprint. Cecil...........:bug:

I like that it's different. Seems like EVERYBODY is blacking out every piece of chrome on their V's these days. I ended up going against the grain and keeping mine (I like the contrast against the Black Diamond Tricoat). This car is definitely a head turner for sure. I do have to agree that the wheels are a bit too busy. The chromed out body makes the statement. The wheels seem to be competing rather than complimenting that. Otherwise, there's a "Terminator" fan in me that likes the look.

Looks great for a sci-fi movie, but horrible to do to a daily driven performance car. The stealth factor is what the V is all about. That looks like a roswell crash re-enactment.

I definitely give you :highfive: for doing something different like this. Very cool. I would like to see it in person, as I don't think the pics are doing it much justice.

Not to be bias but let me build you a new set of wheels :)

I agree with other that is the only part of the overall flow that is distracting from the look you are trying to achieve.

I love it but I would do the factory chrome parts in Matte black to make it reverse. and the wheels are reallly ugly but if you love em, that's fine. The style just doesnt' go with the car.

Tranzlator - are you in Houston? Did I see you on 610 around 1:30 at the Galleria Tuesday? I was a bit behind you and you pulled off before I could get too close.

For everyone - that car looks pretty darn cool (the wrap anyway). I for one did NOT like it at all when I saw the pictures on the forum, but it looks way better in person.

Search on YouTube for chrome Camaro. That will show a combination that looks pretty darn good with the chrome vehicle and black wheels.

I think the wrap is kind of cool but you definitely need different wheels. The satin graphite stockers would look cool or black/graphite TSW Nurburgrings.

Is it a real V series?

Wheels kill it. As in like lights out, choke hold, see you later, i'll be in a coma till I die,..killed it.

Wheels gotta go. 6 cylinder factory stocks, would look 10x's to me but,...all that matters is that you like it, in the end.

Unwanted advice? I'd take the factory chrome side gills,...do those in carbon fiber or even black. I'd even consider doing the window framings all in black,..maybe a satin black...actually, anything that was originally chrome on the car,..i'd do in a satin/matte/flat black,..with some carbon fiber accents....to brake up the chrome.

Then,...I think I would use a non chrome wheel...either a carbon fiber wheel,...or a satin wheel...all black. Calipers,..should be visible, and a different color,...to accent the chrome of the vehicle.

That'd be what I would do,...if I was a baller....meaning several cars to toy with.

Okay I think it's cool, not my style ,but to reach is their own and I can appreciate anything that is created outside the box. I would only worry about the glare off the car into my eyes or another driver. The other thing ,I would be in fear of starting fires wherever I went. The sun hits the right spot you never know. There was a pic floating around with Obama plastered on the side of a chromed CTS coupe. Was it your car?

I have no idea who owns it, I assume the op of this thread. I just spotted it and took a pic.

But the wheels... got to go.

05-14-13, 07:49 PM
It's a real attention getter to be sure. I agree with EVERYONE else that the wheels have to go. Going with darker/cf accents on window trim, vents, wheels would really compliment the chrome wrap.
I have a serious question though. Do you consider the glare hazard to others who share the road with you?
