I have been reading here for the past few months, but have just now joined your community and wanted to say hello.
I am proud to say I am the new owner of a used White Diamond 2008 CTS Premium w/Sport.
I am located in Phoenix, AZ and I had been shopping for weeks trying to find this combination. I don’t think this is a rare combination, just bad timing in trying to find one near PHX. My criterion was (in order of importance) Mileage, Trim Level, and Exterior Color. After not finding what I was looking for in my area, I decided to broaden my search to over 1,000 miles. Once I increased my search area, I found my new car in Plano, TX. So I took a flight to TX and drove her home over the weekend and I love it!
My first order of business is replacing the driver door sensor (radio not turning off correctly upon exit) and updating the nav maps (currently on Application Version 1.04 and Data Base Version 8.63.12………
The last forum I was on was a Nissan Forum and it was only made up of owners for the most part. I never saw a posting from a manufactures customer service such as I see here (e.g. Katie). This is very exciting to me.
Anyone in Phoenix?
I look forward to the knowledge I will be able to gain from all of you!
Looks great with that dark tint (required in AZ, I'm sure). Enjoy your CTS, the longer I own mine the more I appreciate that they are really cool, unique cars.
How many miles on it? Looks in great condition. You will see alot of NAV improvements when you upgrade your system. Just dont order the 2012(latest version). Order the 2011 update. I assume you know how to get the upgrade(and Gracenotes too). There are problems with the latest upgrade that are posted all over this forum. But at your level you are missing out of some nice enhancements, not to mention map updates. Cost is $200.
I assume they(GM) took your heated windshield washer unit out. If you are interested, AlphaTherm has a replacement unit that works just fine and is pretty easy to install(as long as whoever removed the original followed procedures and left some of the connectors needed to install a new one). Their website is http://www.alphathermusa.com/index.html. If you have the Premium model you should have had the washer unit.
Thanks everyone for the nice complements! I love the color also.
29,200+/- miles when I bought her, great condition.
My research shows it was a lady who leased the car at the dealer for 4 yrs and turned it back in. I bought it from that same dealer last week. Records showed she took the car to the dealer for every oil change and all the maintenance.
Lucky find in my book.
Didn't know anything about the washer heater? Recall or something? Where is or was the heater located? I'd like to verify if it's gone. Although I do live in phx and that's a feature I will never use
On the navdisk update,
I read that the 2011 was the disk with all the trouble (e.g. Screen pop up for back up camera issue). Which was the last disk with the fewest problems?
Anyone remember what the enhancements where along the way, other than the map updates? Any new settings or new screens?
Visit the AlphaTherm website for details on the heated washer. It was located on passenger side next to firewall. You should see a rubber hose connection used with the windshield washer that was plugged when the heated unit was taken out. There should be some electrical connectors visible as well. Its been a while since I worked on this when I had my 08 CTS so I dont remember all the info. If you subscribe to ALLDATAdiy for TSBs, you will find the recall for the heated washer and instructions on how it was to be removed. That info can help.
As for the NAV, the popup of the unit when in reverse was fixed. You should be OK with 2011 update. I again am sorry - dont remember how the popup was resolved - it may have been fixed at dealer with a minor correction. Other than fixing issues when recalibrating your route when exiting to get gas, etc., there were some real nice changes made to split screen function among other things.
I assume you have the button on the console for using the heated washer, correct?

Yes, I have the washer heater button on the dash. I'll take alook under the hood and see if the heater was removed or not. Thanks for all the info.
Navdisk 2011, okay I'll order that one. Hopefully I don't have to go to the dealer to have them fix the back up camera issue with the pop up screen. I read that people were havin to have the dealer tell the computer that there was no camera installed in order to solve the problem. So again hopefully I don't have to go thru that.
As far as the Bluetooth, going off of memory since I just did it. This should get ya setup. Also note you can watch this YouTube video:
1. Press the voice button on the steering wheel.
2. Verbally say "hands free". The system will confirm hands free menu and say ready
3. Next verbally say "Bluetooth"
4. Next verbally say "pair"
You'll then turn on the bluetooth on your phone, discover the car, enter the 4 digit pin and your finished. Hope that helps

I saw that you were looking to service your Cadillac CTS. If you need any assistance getting to a dealership just let me know! Also, if you would like to provide me with your VIN I'd be happy to look into the heated windshield washer concern that is later addressed in this thread.
Ashley (assisting Katie)
Cadillac Customer Service
I've been out of the office since Friday evening and am pleased to see you've already been interacting with one of my wonderful back-ups, Ashley. I'm happy to provide you with your build code information, warranty information, and any current recalls that may be open on your CTS. (We recommend contacting a dealership to see if they can access the full service history for you.)
Feel free to email me anytime at Katie_Lucille@gmexpert.com with the last eight of your VIN, and I can do some research for you!
