: Ayone selling their factory 19" V sedan wheels and tires?

Ive looked through the classifieds and cant find any for sale still, that are in my budget, or not off a coupe. So I thought Id see if anyone has a set just laying in their garage they might like to get rid of. Has to be a sedan, whatever finish is fine. Tires and TPMs preferred.

Let me know what you got!

PM is fine.

Thanks guys

Some on classified section, You can always offer less than they are asking. New Satin Graphite sedan rims (least expensive finish) are about $1800 from Rippy caddy for reference.

Also salvage yards are getting $370 to $410 for used rims each so the best you can do used is about $1600 (with used tires and sensors), so unless you can find someone giving them away. Use that as a decent gage. TSW nurbs are darn close to factory look and are under $1000.

I just sold mine for 2300. That was 4 polished OEM wheels with 4 PS2's with 5/32's left. Just to give you an idea of what you'll pay.

BTW, I don't think chrome was ever offered as an option. If they are factory wheels they are either painted, polished or satin graphite.

1500 is a fair deal if they are in perfect condition. Just be aware that these scratch when you breathe on them. When I picked up my V the wheels looked like they had been curbed. The car had 14 miles on it. They replaced the wheels and the new ones still had scratches from the machine they mounted them with. On the 3rd set they sent the wheels and tires out to be mounted. Those were nearly perfect. Still a light circular mark on one wheel but it mostly polished out so I let it go.

Is that the set that was on ebay? Luckily you can return them for a full refund. If you're really lucky, but not likely, eBay will cover the shipping back.

rockryno
09-25-12, 11:35 PM
yea ebay. I contacted the seller, and he said I mounted the front wheel on the rear of my car. He said the "deep dish" ones go in front. I looked, and the "deep dish" ones are the super wide 285s, which according to every reference Ive found, are the rears. Ive never returned anything on ebay. Seller's ad says he doesnt take returns....

smackdownCTSV
09-25-12, 11:39 PM
Yes, 285s are the rear. Check the inside of the wheel and you'll see the stamp with all the info. Honestly, it doesn't matter if he doesn't accept returns, purchasing on eBay with PayPal means you're covered. You don't even need a valid excuse, just file within 45 days. http://pages.ebay.com/help/buy/item-not-received.html

I have a set of CTSV sedan wheels that have been widened by Eric Vaughn (fronts widened to 10 3/8 to mount on rear and rears @ 9.5 inch mount on front) along with a pair of C5 Z06 rears for a drag pack all freshly powder coated gloss black to match. These wheels have never been mounted since powder coating. This will give you widened stockers (with no down time waiting for things to ship and get refinished) along with a nice set of 18 inch rears for a drag pack that already matches.
PM me with your email if you are interested.
These will also fit a vagon.

I Like that look!! I wish my HRE fit like that, makes me want to sell them and get coupe offsets!! I cant see the rim poking out, so you need to go down a tire size. Icing on thhe cake is when you lower it, you will have perfect stance.
Does the front stick out too?

rockryno
10-14-12, 12:53 PM
no, the front is tucked nicely. If/when I lower it, wont the tire hit the fender with it out like that? I would think that would be a big problem...

Forgot to reply to guard dog on this / thanks much for the offer.

Have actually changed my mind and going with 20" Forged wheels which I'll be ordering Monday.

Do note that my nearly new Michelin PS2's will be up for sale shortly / less than 1500 BREAK IN miles on them (going to 3K).

Thanks for the reply. I'm sure you'll love the 20s; 20 inch mesh 8s are my favorite aftermarket wheel on the V sedan. The widened wheels are for the stock sleeper look.
If anyone else is interested in widened sedan wheels in gloss black with matching C5 Z06 wheels for a drag pack, just PM me.

Looks like u would need 2" of lowering to get close, at that point you will have about -2 camber or more, and the stock adjustments are limited. It's very possible it might tuck. If it does rub go with one size narrower tire and it will pull the side wall in slightly clearing fender and will look great!

Bummer on the fronts, wonder if a sedan rear would fit aggressively on the front.

I'm going to be selling a set of black powdercoated factory wheels within the next few weeks. The tires are Kuhmo Ecsta and have approx 6000 miles on them. the rears are getting near the wear bars but the fronts are in great shape. The wheels themselves are not perfect and I thought about getting them refinished but I'm interested to see what everyone thinks I should ask for this set of wheels and tires. I'm in NH so pickup would be the only option or meet within reasonable distance.

Sorry, no pics right now, but they're in good shape..just not clean due to the off/on rain we've had in LA. You're by Irvine. If you decide to buy it, just add $20 for gas and I'll deliver it to your house or pickup for free, they're currently in Long Beach.

I'm still on the fence about selling it and I originally thought about a lower price, but after looking into a track setup, I came up with the price below:
Wheels w/ TPMS: sold!
RE-11s (4k miles w/ 2 track days - plenty meat left): $800 (obo)

I know there's one available for a lot cheaper, but I'm pretty firm. I need cover my new setup, otherwise, I'll widen the fronts instead..

Hi I am new here, I have an 09 v sedan. My wheels are the oem painted silver, but one of them appears to have been rashed a little bit by the previous owner. There are no gouges just surface abrasions along the whole lip.

Does anybody have any tips or products/methods which I could use to fix this? I checked the wheel wizard out and they go around and charge $200 a wheel. I can't afford to give them one rim and be without my car for a day unless it's on my free time, so I want to do it myself that way it will be on my free time. Any tips?

Jim,
I think we can all agree the classified section is one of the worst existing today. this thread has been more effective than the classifieds. I've written the mods about it about a year ago and nothing changed. E90post g35driver and 6speedonline are the others I use often, check out the format.
I would really like to see this forum get up to date, and willing to help anyway I can.

There are two different classifieds. The one I posted in seems to be fine...

My polished OEM rims are for sale although they are the custom set up. Fronts widened to 19x11 and run on the rear with hubcentrics and 305/30/19 supersports. Rears run up front with hubcentrics and 295/35/19 Contis. Great set up. Selling all of it together. PM me.

Thanks for making this thread about selling wheels and a sort of classified for the topic.

I'm not a fan of the "spare tire in a can" to accomplish a roadside repair. (It even has an expiration date which "appears" to force me to purchase another entire assembly and trash the old one.)

Questions: Will the OEM tire for the sedan fit in the spare tire well?

If it will fit, what are the chances that someone has a single beat up wheel/tire that I can buy? Mine are polished ...but I don't care if the spare is orange.

Questions: Will the OEM tire for the sedan fit in the spare tire well?

When I first got my CTS-V, I had the same thought. I tried the smaller front wheel/tire in the spare tire well. It isn't even close. It is both too large in diameter and too tall (wheel is too wide).

There is a spare tire kit sold by a Forum vendor. It is a complete kit with jack and mounting but pricy.

Another option is to buy a cheap wheel - like an 18" TSW Nurburgring (maybe the 18x8 wheel) and mount a smaller diameter wheel on it - just for a spare. That particular wheel has been well tested for front caliper clearance.

Hi Mike, I sent you an email. You will have trouble running coupe rears on a sedan. The offset is all wrong. A few guys, myself included, widened the fronts and run them on the rear, while moving the rears up front. It works beautifully. I'm actually selling my set up but not looking to trade unfortunately. Good luck with whatever you decide to go with!

I run coupe rears on my sedan, lowered with d3 competition springs and have no problems, so I'd have to disagree

Not sure I'm on the same sheet with the OP's question. Really, you can't discuss fit without diameter, width, offset and tire size. Does the Coupe and the CTS-V Coupe run the same wheel? My 19X10 +40 CTS-V Coupe wheels with Michelin 285/35 19 pictured below. I measured with a strait edge on the sidewall, 1/2" to the top edge of the finder. The tread is inside the finder. If anything hits it will be 1" - 2" down on the sidewall. I have had no rubbing yet but I know it will sometime. I wish they made this wheel in 19X10 +50 but I have not checked if there is room in the back.

How about a picture of yours lowered?

They do look good though and I'm not taking them off. I'm seriously considering flaring the finders. If I were in LA it would not be a problem but Houston doesn't have a lot of shops doing that kind of work. The flare would have to include the rear door.

So you think it would hit on a road course, with high lateral loading?
I wonder if more -camber in the rear would alleviate any clearance issues.

Not sure if this was directed to me but if it was, my car is a 3.6L and will never see a road course. I'm going for the look and flared finders would look cool, wide butt. I have never seen any wheel on a CTS that I like as much as these and thats a first for any OEM wheel. I once (1998) ask an engineer at the Corvette factory if it cost the same to cast those ugly wheels as to do nice ones. Change in 2000 made the wheels acceptable.

To answer your question, yes, IMHO it would hit and yes -camber would help along with modifying or removing the finder liner. Also, anything to cut down wheel travel, big hard springs.
