: How do you remove the Tri-Pot housing from transaxle?

I'm replacing the inner CV joint boot, drivers side. I have the half-shaft out, but am not sure how to get the Tri-Pot housing out. The FSM shows some sort of clamp(?) that goes around the housing, & a slide hammer arrangement to pull it out. It sounds like it just pulls out (no hidden snap rings, etc) with a little force.

Here is where I'm at now:

But I don't want to break anything, so anyone have experience getting these things out? As always, help is appreciated.

Cheers,
Steve

Got it. Wrapped some small chain around the transaxle end, put a nut/screw thru the links to keep it tight, pry bar under the opposite side, then used a big weight as a slide-hammer to pull it out. It came out after a few whacks, with no damage to case.

Steve

A pinch bar behind it against the trans case will get it too.
