Very very impressive. This ATS is going be huge There is a very strong buy American tone out there ( about time) I think with that and the sheer fact that Caddy built this world class car in the ATS , XTS and CTS. Standard of the World, yes indeed !!!

Lincoln, by comparison, is asleep at the wheel.

On this arena Lincoln is not even close to being in this game. All the success of Ford had done nothing ti really revive Lincoln. I think they should kill off the brand and bring out a new nameplate with new world class cars. The USA should have more then one home grown world class car.

That's a matter of opinion. Cadillac is making the most exciting cars on the market today and the new GM had the resources to go all out and they are. Finally.

That's a matter of opinion. Cadillac is making the most exciting cars on the market today and the new GM had the resources to go all out and they are. Finally. The CTS isnt the Standard in its class, let alone the World. The present 5 series is a better car overall then the CTS. There are numerous ways where the 5-series and E-class eclipse the CTS in both Sport and Luxury. The CTS is the better bargain. Move up from this class, and look at the Porsche Panamera, a better overall 4dr-5seater. The ATS still isnt out yet. XTS may be the standard in some areas like interior material quality, but as an overall luxury car, there are plenty in close classes (S/7/A8) that are better in nearly all ways. Then you simply need to look higher at the RR to eclipse all of them in luxury aspects. Cadillac has allready been talking about a flagship car. If they were they standard, they would have one allready. The SRX is comparable to the RX, but it doesnt blow it out of the water, so its not the Standard. The Escalade is nice, a personal favorite in its class, but again, it compares well to the big Infiniti and Lexus, but it doesnt fully eclipse them. If we are defining the slogan the way Cadillac used it 50 years ago, then Cadillac at present is not the Standard of the World. World Class and Standard of the World mean different things. One term implies a Cadillac is very competitive, while the other says its the benchmark. Cadillac is making good vehicles, but Cadillac doesnt make the BEST Sport Sedans or the BEST Luxury Sedans. The best way to stunt growth is to believe its not necessary.

The 13 MKZ and MKS are indeed much improved on the grill, but then again the 2013 fusion/taurus are fantastic looking things too, and everytime I see a Lincoln I can't help but think.. It's still a fusion or taurus under there.

That doesn't have to be a bad thing. The Lexus ES has Camry bones, but no one would ever confuse the two.

People who know cars do. The ES is basically the top interior trim level of the Camry.

Normally they would, but they hardly drive the same. What is typically shared is the platform and engine. Body panels, interior trim, etc is different. The cars even drive differently.

Honda does the same thing with the Accord and the TL. Again, drive the two cars and they are not the same vehicles.

Platform sharing is not the same as badge engineering (which led to GM's problems).

With badge engineering, cars like the Malibu, Saturn Aura and the Pontiac G6 were essentially the same. They drove the same and were in the same price point.

You weren't stepping up like you would be in that previous examples I gave.

Again, sharing platforms and engines doesn't have to be a bad thing as long as there is enough differentiation between the models.

Sure it is the CTS V beat out every other high-performance luxury car in the world how could you say it's not the standard of the world? Most importantly all the new Cadillacs have the best styling of anything on the market today and for most people paying up to $800 a month in car payments they want to love what they look at and there's no question that Cadillac wins the styling game hands down !! Sure some makes may have specs that beat out a Caddy but that will always be the case. Cadillac is about to become the "it" car company again and the big three German car companies will now enjoy the LED view of Cadillac out in front.
