: Decision Time Keep my 04 V or 2013 Boss 302

Although I haven't contributed much to the forum, I have gleamed much info since I've owned my V. I really like my car, bought it from a close friend with 29K on it and now I have 48,000 trouble free miles. Not my DD.

My daughter works for a Ford Dealer; she called me and informed me that I could buy a 2013 Boss 302 for A Plan Pricing (which is unusual for this car) Most dealers are getting 3-6k over MSRP.

Anyway, I can sell the V for 17000 and have some real nice equity in a limited production vehicle; sorry to the haters.

Ok, need some advice!

Man, that would be tempting! Only thing I don't quite like about the Boss 302, or rather the way Ford packages stuff, is you can't get the higher-output engine with some of Ford's cutting edge tech stuff like Sync. If you want the "lux" options, and bigger power, you have to get a GT500 (which now comes with ridiculously big power).

I'm sure you'd have plenty of people willing to purchase the V from you (myself included, hint hint ;-) ...

I'd go to a GT500 or a V2 personally but if you drive the Boss and like it I say go for it.

I'm not sure if we would break any rules; I do have it listed on a couple of different sites and I have a firm bid from a local dealer. Planning on doing something by Wed, so I can pick up the Boss. Not sure how we can communicate. Let me know.

I have made the decision. And the initial push is the price that I am able to acquire the Boss and the potential of this vehicle. I have enjoyed the V and have absolutely nothing negative to say about it.. If I could, I would have kept the V. One of my Son-in-Laws has a 2009 V (purchased after driving mine). He has the ultimate V. 680 RWHP and it's really a beast. So, I will be able to enjoy his also.

Thanks for the input.

you are going to love the car. I like it much more than the GT500. On the track, it just molds around you and does everything you would want it to do, without complaint and minimal drama. Very, very different from a regular Mustang with the trackkey.

I drive a new car every week as an auto journalist, and I can say that the Boss 302 is the only car so far that made me consider replacing the V.

Exactly! I had no idea of trading the V. There is really not another car out there that I would even consider. Made the deal and driving from Fl to Tex next week.

Just please say you got a black one and not one of the many other hideous colors Ford's colorblind paint dept has decided to hurt my eyes with.

Funny. At 61, I couldn't see myself in some of those.. Black was first choice; wasn't available. Had the Performance White or Racing Red: I got the White

It's a nice car but I think the V still has better body lines / overall aggressiveness.

Only the Laguna Seca packaged ones are getting big money. We already bought a couple used ones for our dealership with less than 100 miles way back of MSRP on regular Boss's.

I'm home in Dallas with The Boss. I had no idea how good a driving machine (can I say that? I've owned BMW) this car is. Unbelievable. I enjoyed every mile (1700 total) and could care less about listening to radio; listened to the exhaust all the way! Thanks for your input, it was exactly right. I was in the car business for years and had access to Porches, Ferrari's, BMW, Vettes, Saleen Mustangs, Shelby's etc. I've never had this kind of a first impression. I'm not a V hater; enjoyed my V1 every day that I owned it and just fell into this deal.

I'm still in the V family though. My Son-in-Law has an 09 with 680 RWHP. Will he beat me in 1/4? Yup. Do I care? Nope. He drove it and was impressed also.

Very nice! Didn't know you could get A-Plan on that car. Congrats
