I'm wondering if I have the 1SF or 1SG package, is there any way to find out? Could it be stamped on the car somewhere?

Somewhere - under the spare tire cover ??? - there's a RPO/paint code sticker.

Enter your VIN (case sensitive) into www.compnine.com (http://www.compnine.com)

okay I found the code 1SG along with JE5 and some other codes under the spare tire cover. But I'm curious though, if mine is the 1SG Why doesn't it have the blind side alert? Was that feature only added to the 08 and newer 1SG's?

Your 2007 STS4 with the 1SG package also did not offer Lane Departure Warning system, Intelligent Speed Advisor for the navigation system, Adaptive Cruise Control, Head-up Display, a slightly freshed up exterior and interior design, Enhanced 4-Channel StabiliTrak with Active Steering (optional only on the STS4 AWD with 1SG package), or the Performance Handling Package. These were all standard or optional equipment on the 2008+ STS with the 1SG package.

Your car may have the Adaptive Cruise Control and/or Head-up Display. They were separate options in 2007, but were paired together starting in 2008 and up model years. Check for option codes K59 and UV6 on your spare tire cover.

It seems that if you wanted more of the features that the 2008+ STS offered, you should have done your research before you bought one.

Well I have all of those features except for lane departure, it would be nice to have but if That's all that my sts is missing then I'm not gonna complain about it.

I have a 2011 1SC with HUD but it doesn't have the Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC). The service parts identification sticker shows UV6 but no K59. K59 must be for the ACC? I have blind spot and lane departure. Just FYI...

"Intelligent Speed Advisor for the navigation system" ... sounds like a "feature" I am happy not to have, I don't need the Nav system telling me to slow down, mind you that I do stick to the limits I think it would just get annoying.
One thing I do find annoying is the "Crash Warning" alert that comes on daily. I will be getting on the freeway clover for entrance or exit and BEEP!! BEEP!! BEEP!! BEEP!! with a Red flashing box on the HUD. It does this all the time, its like the radar sees the thin post between the split of the road and ramp and it freaks out thinking I am going to hit the damn thing. Does not matter if cruise is set or not.
I can understand that it complains when speed gets below 24MPH as the car cannot be expected to stop for you, although under the right conditions it will bring the car to a full stop and it will be screaming the entire time.

I have a local road that I frequent that has a slight curve to it at one spot, there's a median with a sign and EVERY time I approach that bend it yells at me thinking I'm going to hit the sign...slightly annoying.

Yeah this is exactly what I am talking about ... it has prompted me to talk to the car and to give it a pat on the top of the dash sayin "it'll be ok, we aren't going to crash into the sign", its doubly useful when the lady is in the car and thinks we may hit the sign too.

jgoble48,

Yes, option code 'K59' is for the Adaptive Cruise Control. Unfortunately, Adaptive Cruise Control and Head-Up Display were only paired together on the 2008 and up STS V8 with the 1SG package. Adaptive Cruise Control was never offered on any V6 STS of any year.

On your 2011 V6 STS, the Side Blind Zone Alert, Lane Departure Warning system, and Head-Up Display were paired together into a package called the Driver Awareness Package. It is option code 'Y53'.

Hope this explains these things for you.

Thanks. You're right, I just checked an old option listing for 2011 and the ACC was dropped completely. I guess that's the price you pay when buying a car in its last year of existence.

Sorry, you've got it backwards. ACC & HUD were paired 2005-2007 and only available separately in later years.
