Took a four hour highway roadtrip yesterday and noticed the driver side mirror glass vibrates at highway speeds. The passenger side is fine. I checked them both this morning, and the passenger side mirror glass seems to have a more solid feel than the driver's side. I pulled the glass off on the drivers side and don't see any way to tighten anything. It is still under a pre-owned warranty until August, but if it is simple, I'd like to fix it myself. Any ideas?
Had a similar situation about a year ago. The repair order reads: "Two out of three retainers out of back of mirror. Removed mirror assembly to repair retainers. " Nothing specified as to any parts replacement. Sorry. Not much detail on the invoice.....
TerrBear, I'm sure you'll continue to get great DIY help from forum members, and please let me know if you'd like me to schedule an appointment at a dealership (if you decide to go that route).
Stopped by the dealer this morning. They said something was broken on the inside so they were going to order a whole new assembly and paint to match. I don't think I will ever buy another car without a factory pre-owned warranty. All for free. They also replaced the gravel guard/ engine underpan because it was loose and dragging at highway speeds.
I appreciate the update! Glad the dealer was able to resolve the situation for you, and hopefully everything continues to run smoothly.
