I need some help with my 2007 cts-v. I know the sequences to disable stabilitrack and traction control but i do not know what the difference is between my two traction control buttons (one on the steering wheel, one in the glove box). Does anyone know what the difference is?

...it gives the passenger the ability to take off the TC & SC to get the V sideways if the driver is soft pedaling it!....oh yeah!

In CA the button in the glovebox is used when you have to take the car in for a smog check. The tech uses it to disable the system when the car goes on athe dyno.

Why would it be any different than using the one on the steering wheel?

The older models didn't have steering wheel controls, so the traction control was in the glove box. I believe 2006 and 2007 got steering wheel controls which added traction control on the steering wheel. GM just didn't remove it from the glove box. I guess to save money.

Not true. I have an 05 and it has steering wheel TC controls. The 04-05 models do not have radio functions on the wheel.

Agreed. '05 here...TC/Stability button on steering wheel ...no radio.

Yep, all years have steering wheel controls. The 06-07 have radio controls on the wheel, whereas the 04-05 have cruise there, but all years have the DIC/TC buttons on the wheel.

My guess is the non-V CTS didn't have the steering wheel button, and it was cheaper and easier just to leave the other button there than to remove it on the V models.
