So my fob broke and I need a new one. I remember when I bought the car the dealer told me a new one was like $600. I laughed. I was at the dealer last week on my rear differential and someone there said it's more like $140. Anyone get a new Fob from a dealer recently? What do they go for? It's a 2008.
Before bumper-to-bumper warranty expiration, my Cadillac dealer replaced one of my key fobs (broken, not lost) including reprogramming. No questions asked, no cost to me (customer satisfaction dealer allowance). After warranty expiry, dunno.
My dealer replaced mine under warranty, too. (I tried to replace the battery, following the instructions in the owner's manual exactly, and the plastic broke.) eBay is a good place to look, especially if you can swap out your key for one that's already been cut.
