: Exhaust help

I need some exhaust help.

First I donít really know what I have for an exhaust setup. I bought my car with an aftermarket intake (lingenfelter), headers (unkown) and probably a catback setup, although other v owners said I probably donít have cats because of how much gas you can smell while idling. They said I probably have a tune that allows me to still pass inspection but I really have no idea. Side note, my engine light has been on forever and the codes are for 02 sensors. So obviously Iím unfamiliar with exhaust systems and I was hoping I could get some educated guesses as to what I have under there.

So here's my problem. Quick backstory- I got into it with an srt8 charger early in my ownership and somehow blew up the muffler underneath the drive shaft. It literally exploded and bowed up where it touched the drive shaft. In a hurry I had a muffler shop put whatever they had that fit on it which was a x-pipe that has a huge drone. If I was still in college I wouldn't mind setting off 5 car alarms every time I'm in the parking garage but it's obnoxious now.

I was hoping you fine people could point me towards the cheapest way to have less drone but doesn't completely stifle the exhaust. If I need to track down a stock muffler so be it but I was hoping there might be a nice compromise between that and the x-pipe. To give you an idea what Iím thinking, I like the sound of most b&b setups I hear on youtube and donít really like magnaflow.

Thanks for your help.

TLDR Ė Help me figure out what my exhaust set up is and suggest a replacement for the xpipe that has less drone.

Attached Ė pictures and a video of current exhaust.

B&B exhausts drone, but I'm unable to ID yours.

It could be that you need a tune to accommodate your headers and get rid of those codes.

Looks like it may be a B&B catback if you compare the parts in the pictures...

Looks like the rear section connects at the same points and the raised ridge along ends of the muffler seems to match up. I believe you are talking about the center resonators that "blew up". Also looks like you do have cats installed. I'd guess maybe its a full B&B setup...

I think you're right about b&b because I remember the exploded resonator looking like theirs. I did a lot more research and I might try the vortex cones + make sure there are no leaks. I thought I remember the muffler shop saying "they didn't have a gasket that fit somewhere but it shouldn't matter." This is a good starting point thanks guys.
