I was driving yesterday and received a warning about low tire pressure. I clicked the DIC, and it said left rear tire had seven pounds. The car was riding normal, and I was only a few minutes from the house, so I kept going. When I got home, I expected to see the tire almost flat, but it was fine. Is the tpms sensor broken? Is it covered under the pre-owned warranty?
I got one of mine replaced last week after ordering it off amazon (Doorman 974-009). It shouldn't cost you more than around 50$ for the part and labor if your warranty is expired. Even Walmart changes them out for you.
TerrBerr, if you'd like me to look into this further for you (or even double check the existing warranties still applicable on your DTS), please send me a private message or email at Katie_Lucille@gmexpert.com anytime! For my research purposes, including the last eight of your VIN would be very helpful.
As luck would have it, the warning light was on this morning, and the tpms was showing the pressure at 7 psi. Later this afternoon, there were no warnings, and the pressure is reading accurately. Any thoughts?
Replaced by dealer this morning under pre-owned warranty. All is good again.
