Which HID ones do you guys replace your bulbs with? I have to take off my bumper and radiator out to install my cam, so when I do that, I'll switch em out.

Also, any good instructions/tips on removing the bumper? It looks hard, but isn't it just a few bolts and you just lift it off a certain way?

removing the bumper is actually really easy, iam down to ten minutes top now.
there is 4 nuts, 2 on each side that will become visiable once you have the splash shields taken out. i think they are 3/8
then all you do it use a trim tool and pop all the clips out, unhook the fog light harness, and your ready to pull the bumper cover right off.

The faq's instructions are good - http://www.cadillacfaq.com/faq/answers/bumperremoval/index.html

The bulb is a D1s in the headlamps. I bought mine locally, paid about 100 bux for both bulbs. You dont want anything any cheaper than that, if not you have to do them again......pain in the arse.....trust me. I did my fogs HID 6k and my headlamps too also did the headlamp corner bulb with an LED. Dramatic diff in the way the car looks.....6k is a clear white light that looks classy and mean on the V.

Ok, so where should I get 6k HID headlights?

I have the bumper off while I'm doing my heads/cam/intake/TB install....so now's the time!

I already did my fogs.

Do I need a new ballast to run HID headlights? Or can I just plug and play? The search engine on this forum is pathetic.

ddm tuning is cheap stuff and hit or miss. I've done a lot of business with them because they are cheap. If they last more than a few months you're probably go to go, but I've replaced a couple bulbs and ballasts between my lows and fogs on my altima.

Do NOT go anything more than 6k unless you just want a ricey look, not to mention actual output lumens goes downhill once you go past 5k. Think of driving around with black lights for headlights = 10k. 6k looks great and does perform fairly well but is not picked up by the human eye with as much contrast as 4300k (stock) or 5k (good compromise looks and performance).

I plan on putting 3k HIDs into the fogs. Bright yellow and looks great on the road / snow!

Oh, and because your car has factory HIDs with ballasts you'll only need bulbs, not that whole kit with a wiring harness and new ballasts. just in case... http://www.ddmtuning.com/Products/HID-Bulb-Replacements-Pair

While we're at it - what type of bulbs are in the fogs? edit: H10 / 9145
