I started noticing the engine thermostat... the meter next to the fuel. It starts almost immediately from nothing to mid-point, is that normal? The trans. temp. shows around 170, which I think it's normal. My car only has 9k miles, 2011 model. Anyone seeing the same thing?

I have a 09. You can drive for 10 to 15 min, and it just won't move, then you will see it quickly start to move to the mid section. Dealer said it is normal. What else is new... Possibly the low point is say 100, then 105 qtr of the way etc... Would be nice to know if anyone has info..

Thats normal guys... I'm pretty sure it has to do with the sensor on the thermostat housing. Once the thermo opens at operating temp, it get a better reading, causing the gauge to jump at once.

I have a 10 and its exactly the same. I chalked it up to being normal since it had 7 miles when I found it and had done that since. I imagine its all electronic and thats just how it works, not like the old school manual anyway.

Thanks everyone for the quick replies. I do feel a lot better now. The reason I thought it was abnormal is because for some reason I notice it's very hot around the vehicle before entering (not just behind the muffler).... I guess burning 6.2L of fuel can create that heat.
