: Black wheels.... who did this?

I'm placing an order for a 13V sedan and want to know what you think of the black wheels vs polished alum. I'm going with the white diamond paint, black graphite wheels and the silver brakes.... if you have pics that would be great too.

I couldn't decide between the two either - however my color of choice was Thundergrey. The dealer had one on the lot with the black wheels so I just went with it. Some times I wish I had the polished, but I will tell you - the wheels probably get the most comments. People seem to really like them - and they are growing on me. I think it gives the car a bit more of a sinister look rather than then classic Cadillac bling look. It really is just a personal preference. Good luck!

Black. Looks amazing!!!

I have Thunder Gray with the painted silver wheels, which I think looks really good. No one gets the silver wheels, but they are really nice. I think the dealers order only the black or polished wheels just to upcharge for them. The polished wheels are high maintenance - had them on my last car and they just never look as nice as when they were new - the wheels take a certain amount of abuse just because they are wheels - close to the road and subject to impacts by various debris. So the polished finish doesn't hold it's luster over time no matter how high the quality of the wheel. The black wheels are cool, but they don't seem to match or blend well with either of the black paints or the gray Chromaflair - the black on the wheels is just off a bit in color or finish or something to me.

With white paint though, I think the black wheels, silver calipers, and blacked out grille and black tinted windows looks pretty slick.

My only wish about the white paint would be if it weren't the diamond white - that's a leftover from the old school Caddy buyer demographic I would guess. A CTS-V should be straight white with a super deep glossy finish IMO.

Personally, I think white with the black wheels is just awesome.

Ever think about Black chrome....I had ordered my Black diamond wagon with standard OEM painted wheels then had them Black Chromed. Everyone that see's them on the car always complements on them. Still some what shiny but not the bling of regular chrome. easier to clean then the oem pianted wheel.

Love the black wheels with the Crystal Red - doesn't show the brake dust as bad as the others.

I have the graphite wheels ... they're dark gray as the "graphite" name implies. Otherwise likened to the stuff they use in pencils.

My Jeep has gloss black wheels and truck has matte black and the V graphites look nothing close to black when parked next to those rides; just something to keep in mind.

I looked at two Vs in black diamond and the one with polished wheels looked like a luxury car, while the same color V with graphite looked like a sport sedan. Both wheels look good IMO, but each one casts a very different personality.

I went Black Chrome and couldnt be happier. Get the stock painted rims and get them PVD black chromed (PVD is tough and does not pit like chrome plate and PVD is not a weight penalty like chrome) and installed for under $1000. Aren't black rims a $800 option? Just an option. Would look tough on white and I love it on black

I'm glad I went with the SG wheels but they kind of look dull or "industrial" to me.

I went silver with black wheels. Get those AND the yellow calipers. Looks awesome...

I have the graphite wheels on my white diamond wagon and I think they look great.

The yellow calipers are a must do with the black wheels in my opinion...they look awesome in person.

I get more comments on the black chrome too. If you use the armor all wheel spray after wash they look awesome (brake dust free) after 3 weeks of use. Sometimes they look black and sometimes they look chrome. Very cool effect. They are PVD so if you rash it, for $225 you can swap another rim on no problem. PVD is awesome no weight penalty, no pitting. Highly recommend Detroit wheel and tire for PVD.

Black chrome looks good also. does not show the brake dust as bad, and much easier to clean then black graphite and painted and polished alum...
