Do you have to remove the.transmission up off the motor to replace this???

If you're replacing the water crossover gaskets (4), no, the transmission stays where it is.......BUT you'll need a decent tool kit, time, patience, and a good eye for mechanical order: This is NOT a fun job, by any stretch of the imagination.

Go through Discussions, Item Specific: Cadillac Tech Tips to find help on this - several pages of threads on how others did various jobs..........and/or Google something like "cadillac forums northstar water crossover gasket replacement" or something similar.

I feel for you... It's a tough job with the engine OUT of the car. I can't imagine doing it while still in the car. :ohnoes:
