Quite by accident I just discovered that my 2008 V6 DI is covered by an additional special warranty "120,000 miles 10-year Special Coverage 11340" which doesn't expire until June 2017. Does anyone know what this is? I suspect it has to do with the timing chains. I will go to the dealer today and ask my SA.:cloud9:

Is that not the coverage for the catalytic converters? I may be wrong though.

I recieved a letter this week from GM of Canada staing although they have been adjusting OLM it apparrently is not preventing timing chain wear. They stated they are extending the Warranty on the Timing chains to 193,000km or 10 yrs. All I can say is the OLM is extremely shortened. It will hit 0% in less than 10,000km(6100 miles) summer time. Pathetic, considering the damn thing is speced for synthetic. Hell my company car gets longer OLM and it uses dino oil.

The issue is the pcv system, or lack there off, vent orifice gets clogged and oil gets sucked up into the intake. Had a 3.6 CTS prior to my STS, bad chain clatter at 94k, main reason I got the V8 STS.

I'd rather have a V8!

It may be obsolete but it's also been perfected.
