We have not done one yet, although we have a few customers with over 200k miles, saw one being done at our local Chevy dealer, don't know the mileage, but the truck was looking beat

When are you supposed to replace? I thought 100k, I know belts were usually 100K, but i have had a few people tell me not to mess with the chain and that their good at 100K and up.

$2200 seems high, I will look at what the book says the hours should be for the job when I get home

I thought belts are 60k for some cars, 100k for non-performance cars and chains are forever=300k miles.

Is the 6.2 an interference engine? If not, I'm not going to worry about the chain. I've heard the chains on the v8s are pretty bullet proof.

How do you know that your timing chain is bad? Is there a code or are the stability and traction control lights coming on? Do you hear a ticking sound from the front of the engine? How do you know the cam position sensor or solenoid or cam magnet isn't bad?
