I used a loaf of hard crusted Italian bread, 3 ribeye steaks 1 lb mushrooms, an onion and some bacon.

Hollow out bread

Cook that shit

try to leave the steaks a little rare as they will carry over cook a little more in the sandwich

Shove one of the steaks in the bread

Sauce the steak

I like to have to halves of the sandwich different so I use half thick worchschire sauce and half dijon mustard and horse raddish sauce

layer of bacon

layer of swiss cheese

http://i.imgur.com/CiCUWh.jpg (http://i.imgur.com/CiCUWh.jpg)

stuff in as much of the mushroom and onion mixture you can

then the other steak along with the juices from the pan

http://i.imgur.com/w5joTh.jpg (http://i.imgur.com/w5joTh.jpg)

a little more sauce

http://i.imgur.com/nhYkkh.jpg (http://i.imgur.com/nhYkkh.jpg)

top off with more swiss

http://i.imgur.com/ODiXDh.jpg (http://i.imgur.com/ODiXDh.jpg)

put the top of the loaf back on

Yummm, meat and dairy sitting at room temperature for 4 hours.
If the high fat doesn't kill you, then perhaps you'll luck out with a bout of food poisoning.

Damn, I looked at this after a monster sub from Subway and I'm still drooling. I'd be lying out my ass if I ever say I'm a vegetarian. :D

I like the whole concept, and perhaps the onions and shrooms would be good. Being me tho, I'd have to soup it up some :D

Sirloin, or I may have to go with PRIME RIB :D

Provolone, Pepperjack, or horseradish cheddar :excited:

loads and loads and loads and loads and loads and loads of bacon :yup:

And I think that would suffice. I have GOT to try this sometime.

Did the bread turn to mush with all that grease????? If it was still crispy/chewy, that looks like a heart attack from the gods.

I was kind of wondering about that as well.

Granted, this is probably no worse (and probably a lot better) than my weekly stop at the BBQ buffet. So many proteins, so little time.

One of my buddies and my college goal is to go to the buffet in Cheyenne, and see how much we can eat. A "man feast", if you will.

Was the sandwich actually eaten??? There is no mention of that, we are all left to assume it was.

Faded Crest

It looks real tasty, but I would not attempt to eat that. maybe 15 years ago I'd go for it, but my system is much more sensitive these days. There would be a major price to pay.

It just looks and seems awfully "dense" to me. I'd rather enjoy the ingredients individually or at least in a less compressed form. I see nothing wrong with the ingredients, I would just combine them in a different fashion that would be more enjoyable to me. The Boy Scouts have a meal they put together like that and compress it and then heat it over an open fire (I don't remember the BSA name for it). Probably tastes good after hiking 15 miles and setting up camp. I just prefer a different eating environment.

All that cheese and bacon would tear me up.
