I want to install a bracket that I can slip my phone into. Something that is in the line of sight while driving, but not obstructing the view of the road. I also don't want to keep the phone in the center console storage or in the cup holder. Has anyone installed such a bracket or know of something that would work?
I have seen DC plug type mounts that charge and have a flexible stand for your device. Any other options out there?
I installed the following in my car:
Very solid mount and the iPhone option works well. My only complaint is that it blocks the passenger's access to the temp adjustment and heated/cooled seat switches.

Do what this guy did. Just Dremel a bigger hole.
Pricey, but they are very sturdy and don't require drilling any holes in your dash.

The http://www.proclipusa.com/ is a little bulky, but works great. For the coupes, it does get pushed on a little when the seat is moved all the way up for back seat access. Other than that, a decent option.

I use Arkon IPM515 for iPhone 4 (http://www.arkon.com/iphone/slim-grip.html). You can get it @ amazon for $12.

We have Bluetooth so you can keep it in your pocket or the little cubbyhole next to the lighter.
That doesnt work if you want to see caller ID, dial from favorites list, or use google maps, etc.
