I am curious if anyone has used the newest update disc from Navteq in the CTS. The Nissan site no longer shows the v6.9 as the latest version, but v6.10 for 2011/2012. Cadillac hasn't updated our nav disc since 2009.
I have successfully used v6.8 from navteq/nissian in the CTS, but before I purchase v6.10 I was hoping someone might know if it will work.
The disk has no copyright protection built in. Put the disk in your computer drive, open the disk to show the files, copy those files to a folder on your computer. Download the freeware program http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download
After installing this program, run the program and choose "write Image File to Disk". Click the "folder" button at the top and direct it to the folder you copied to your computer. Bam
I use a copy in my car and keep the original in my office. That way if it is stolen or scratched I just burn another. Make sure to use dual layer DVD blanks because the file is just over 7 gigs.

Borrow, beg or steal....Just kidding, but the borrow part is a way, just to copy the files. I work at a dealership that sells all brands of used cars, we have masters of them all I can copy.
[/COLOR]Sure Teedoe. I am rolling with a 6.0 right now. Haven't gone to 6.10 because every-time I put a location in in found it. But I should check in and see about the 6.10 at work. Send me where you want it sent. Do you have any disk right now?
No problem guys. My wife works at an office(Law Office) She gets to ship shit for free and the DVD is only a buck. I think I can afford it. Just send me the addresses you want disks sent to.
jmargo, do you mean your next available Nav Disc? If so, this link should be helpful. If not, then apologies for my confusion! Please feel free to send me a private message or email me at Katie_Lucille@gmexpert.com if you'd like me to research further.
I mean if I need the firmware update to run this new Nissan disc.
Since I have Cadillac Customer service on the line. Can you help me understand why I have to replace the rear diff on my 04 with only 21,000 miles. Why can't GM step up and admit they messed up when they put the Getrag diff in these cars.
Thanks for clarifying, Jmargo! I don't want to threadjack either, so I'll quickly let you know I can document your feedback or look into your own particular V concerns further, if you like. Drop me an email anytime (Katie_Lucille@gmexpert.com)!
Everybody who wants a free copy of 6.0. Just send me their address via PM. I have a stack of dual layer DVDs ready to go and I get free shipping so it is not a problem.
