: D3's no stagger setup

D3 went with a no stagger setup on their nighthawk and patriot missile cars. 295s on rear wheels on all 4 corners. What is everyone thoughts on how this affects handling? I personally love the stance but I'm concerned about undue stress on steering components turning 295's.

I run 18x9.5" track wheels with 275/35 18 track rubber at all corners. I was not able to detect any added understeer. That 275 track rubber is about equal in width to the stock 285s...

anyone else running same width tires all around? pics? If I find a 20x10 aftermarket wheel I like and want to use them all around, what offsets would I need front and rear (provided I want to be flush with the outside of the car but no rub when tire tucks into the wheel well). Also, would a 305/30/20 be close to stock outside diameter?

That's a little bigger than stock. Optimal would be 305/25 20...

I am running the square set up tire-wise (295) although my rims are not. 19x9.5 front and 19x10.5 rear. Much much better handling in my opinion. Better grip, turn in, all around improvement on the track IMO. You asked for a pic, this is the only one I've got although I'm sure D3 will be posting more from Infineon, which was the first time I ran this set up. . .

Jim,
Did you have to machine the 18" rims to fit over the brembo's or were there no clearance issues? What rims are you using? There seems to be more available track rubber in 18" sizes

thx

Nope. TSW Nurburgrings 18x9.5" +40mm offset. I wanted the 18"s so that I could have plenty of track tire options available...

So those are a different rim than what you were running before. What tires are those? Bridgestones R's or? Is it a 295.35.19?

Yes. Those are my track wheels. TSW Nuremburgrings. 19x9.5 front, 19x10.5 rear. 295/35/19 Toyo R-888's all around. My road wheels are OEM fronts (widened to 19x11) on the back with 305/30 Supersports and the OEM rears mounted up front with 265/35 Conti's. Spacers are needed and the proper widening limit is really 19/10.5 but I'm happy to be the guinea pig so that others may benefit :-)
