Just got an 08 STS White Diamond. Going to have the windows tinted 35% all around, most NC allows, just wondering if anybody else has used the Wincos - http://www.wincosir.com/ - tint made by Madico, I think. I'm getting there 92%IR film, mainly to reduce as much heat has possible and hopefully for a little aesthetics. Just wondering anybody else used this and their opinion. Cost is $360 installed, lifetime warranty.

I wasn't aware of that. There doesn't seem to be any tint on the windows.
Check the fine print in the corner.

OEM is actually 70% tinted.
The percentages work on how much light is transmitted through the material, 70% VLT (Visible Light Transmitted) is factory on the STS.
So you could say that 30% of the light is blocked with factory tint.
Putting the 35% on top of the 70% will lead you to about 28-32% VLT on a police officer's tint meter.
Personally the cost seems a bit high, I had all windows - 35% (full windshield - 50% and moonroof - 5%) tinted for $200 locally.
I would shop around for some local shops that will tint windows at a better rate.

The "non-IR" tint is only about $180 for all the way around. I liked the heat rejection of the Wincos IR is why I was choosing that. From other reviews I've read in seems to be pretty good at blocking the heat. Thanks for the advice and opinions.

Ah, I admit that I overlooked the non-IR portion of that. Do they list that as ceramic tint or is it still metallic?
Ceramic supposedly will not cause any interference in radio and gps, although I think I have had better GPS reception since I had it tinted...

Actually just talked with them and they are going to be using the Suntek CXP and for $320.

Went ahead and got it done today. Looks great, been a little cloudy today but did put my hand at the windshield and then at the window and it was a huge difference in the heat felt from the sun. So far like very well, give it a couple of days and let the few bubbles dry and then see how much I like it.
Thanks, .crisp. I looked this evening and saw the 70% rating.
