I will be shopping for a new battery for my 2001 STS. The last one (a Delco) lasted 1 year - which pisses me off. In case I stick with Delco (see my other thread), is there a way to determine the manufacture date?
I found some OLD threads on this topic but I don't think they apply anymore.
The guy at the Delco shop explained the current numbering to me...so I'm posting for the interest of other members:
My battery is marked P121R which means:
P = Made in Pennsylvania
12 = Made in Dec (12th month)
1 = Made in 2011 (2010 + this digit)
R = no ideas...

Made in Pennsylvania - I wonder if that's an East Penn battery - Deka #779MF. They make batteries for a LOT of contracts.
