I've searched but can't seem to find any information on programming a new keyless entry fob for my 2005 Deville DTS. Is there a way I can do this myself? I've done it on other cars I've owned. The holding the unlock button and cycling the ignition twice method doesn't seem to work.

I believe the fob programming is done by a GM dealer, you can do extra keys.

You can try this; follow the instructions (molded in the inside surface of the remote case) for replacing the battery in the remote. The same instructions are also printed in the Owner's Manual.

BTW, there is no "programming" taking place. All that is happening is giving the vehicle's Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) module an opportunity to "recognize" that particular remote.

you don't actually program the remote -
you teach the car to recognize the new remote -

Unfortunately - with our cars - it takes a TechII tool to do it -
and the dealer is usually the only one with this tool -

there is NO OTHER WAY -

are you adding a new remote - replacing a lost one -
or possibly replacing a worn-out one?

if it is the latter - you can take the remotes apart -
re-use the circuit board - with the new rubber keypad and new case -
