I've selected Menu from the Nav main screen, but all the other modes are grayed out.

Any ideas?

I've got an attachment here with what I'm looking for.

2007 STS

Where are you and which disk are you using?

Dallas TX and the 2012 disk (DW464210-7510).

I think I've also tried the 2009 disk (pre-owned and this one was in the car already) and it exhibited the same behavior.

I think mine only goes into that mode when I have a destination programmed in.

Thanks Carter!

I'll try that and see if it works.

There are some config settings and you can try zooming in or out. That changes the POI's display.

It turns out that the Freeway mode only works when you have Guidance turned ON. So you have to have a destination programmed in and then you get the other views to come up.

I played around today and found this to be the case. I do like the exit & POI info and the split screen has little other utility. I'd recommend turning off the voice and just setting some destination to get the info you want.

In my car, I leave the voice guideance off, anyway. The HUD is plenty.

When you don't have a destination selected, the unit assumes you know where you're going and don't need the exits pointed out to you.

Smh as long as I had my sts I never knew it was a such mode myself. And not to thread jack but is it 2 different disc? East coast and mid west/west coast?

There are now two discs, East and West. Both discs have all the map data but each has only POI data for their area.

^^^ Not quite accurate. The East POI disk still covers to the Mississippi and a bit beyond in the south. The West POI disk covers the whole country except for the Atlantic states. I think Version 7 for 2011 got back to a single disk.

Won't either disk work by address?

Maybe someone will pay one forward.

I've got the 2012 disc and it is just one (all inclusive) for my 2007 STS. I confirmed that the guidance has to be ON. I like that feature/view most but will only get it to work when I have a destination on.

Thanks for everyone's input!
