: Clear Bra Pics

I purchased my Escalade new in 2010 and immediately had a 3M Clear Bra installed. In fact, I drove my car home and parked it until I could have the work done. Installation/installer is key. I shopped around and "interviewed" several shops before making my choice. The first shop I was speaking with actually seemed promising, I arrived with with my car and asked where exactly would the bra terminate on the hood. The gentleman took his fat, dirty, poorly manicured index finger and drew a line in the dust across my hood to illustrate the point of termination. I looked at him, shook my head and got into my car and left. I ultimately decided on a shop that was responsible for a local BMW dealerships needs. When I arrived I basically said "this is my baby, and I need it protected." When the gentleman at this shop rolled up his sleeve and said "you have nothing to worry about" while proudly displaying his Cadillac tattoo on his arm, I knew I was in the right place. I was also able to confirm the quality of their work by walking through the BMW dealership. PLEASE take your time in selecting the shop to do this work. Don't let anyone touch your car that you cant first verify the quality of work they push out their door. Try to find a shop that has been 3M trained and is responsible for doing higher end cars. It might cost a little more, but in the end it'll be worth every penny. I couldn't be happier with the work I had done on my car. I had the complete front bumper, a portion of the front fenders and hood, mirrors, A pillars, rocker panels from the chrome to the bottom of the car, (average kit doesn't reach the chrome strip on the Escalade doors) the section on the roof between the windshield and sunroof and the sides of the rear bumper all covered. I also had a 3M head lamp/fog lamp kit installed, this will keep the housings from becoming cloudy as so many do these days. I wiped down the car and then snapped some pics. They are only cell phone pics and untouched. I took some general pics and some trying to highlight the product. It is less noticeable once once a layer of dust forms on the surface, and that doesn't take long. Ok enough, heres the goods!!

Mirror

If you're looking for the product on the car it can be seen at certain angles, but in passing its very tough to detect. The pics that clearly show the bra were intentionally taken from that angle. Black is the absolute worst color when it comes to hiding a Clear Bra. The lighter the color of the car the more difficult it becomes to detect. Even on a black car and using an experienced installer, the product can still be discreet.

Looks good, had my front bumpers done and everything under the moldings, gives great protection from winter issues and stone chips because of the retractable running boards vs the standard running boards, well worth the cost

I'm just calling attention to my clean wheel wells. LOL. If I lowered it, I wouldn't be able to get my arm in there to clean it!! I see you opted for no cowl emblems.

Can I borrow your truck to plow snow, it's now low enough to clean my driveway when it snows ;) My shop guys put the "V" on my soon to be Edlebrook's Escalade, made them take it off after the abuse from the real "V" owners, it does look nice on the Escalade, but it was just wrong IMO

All kidding a side, you keep your truck as clean as any truck I have ever seen, looks great and unless you own one of these you just don't know how much work it takes to keep it looking great, so yes it proves you have no life, but you knew that. :) I know x3 again.

And I hear about how bad these roads are but in your pics the roads in the background look great, and I guess it's a Canada thing you have concrete driveways, but all the oil too, and your truck is always clean, I think your roads are paved in GOLD

I think it safe to say a the condition of a person's vehicle, yard, garage, toolbox etc is a reflection of what's going on in the computer room (brain) and life..some hard drives are in good shape and defragged on a regular basis, others just lope along and get by and some are crashing on a regular basis...now I must go polish my spark plugs :)

It's not an actual V; he added those emblems after supercharging his Escalade, IIRC. One of the nicest Escalades on this forum!

Check...I knew there were no V Escalades....I just found it interesting someone would put V emblems on something that isn't a V.

Anyways...a nice truck for sure....

That's nothing, you should see all the owners putting "V" emblems on 6 cylinder CTS's, I guess that makes up for the missing 250 hp. ;)

Yup...I know what you mean...well aware of that too. With the CTS....at least there was a V model produced to add the missing 250hp w/the emblem. Hah.

But with the Escalade....makes even less sense?

To each his own though.....however truly is a sharp truck!

It was more than just an emblem though. Platinum trim level, supercharged, tuned, I think full exhaust, lowered, big brakes, front and rear sway bars and a functional cowl hood. Had Cadillac built an Escalade V, one might argue this would've been it.

Lowered
Hotchkis sway bars
Baer 6 piston big brakes, front and rear
Functional vented hood (Murphy and I got a deal on two)
Super charged, smaller pully
Volant CAI
Long tube headers, high flow Y and cats
Corsa exhaust
MSD wires

Thinking of putting in a blower cam this year.

Oh and has V emblems, likes my dad use to say, that's the joy of owning it, don't care what others say or think, as long as I like it.
