: It's Gone. I'm Not.

Well guys, it sucks. But I'm numb to it. A couple of moths ago I made contact with a SHO buddy of mine who was interested in the totaled '04 I had.

A couple of weeks ago, he sent payment and I sent the title shortly afterward. The V was delivered to him this week.

He's excited to rebuild it and I didn't have the time or money to do it. But I'm very happy its going to someone I know well. I may also get to drive it someday and will see pics as it gets brought back to life.

It was 8 years ago this month that I bought that '04, custom ordered V. It was the most exciting purchase I've ever made and there is no other car I've loved more. It's bittersweet, I tell ya...

Oh, and Randy, ya g00b, I changed my Cadillac owner list from '04/'09 CTS-Vs to 2009 CTS-V. That's what I was referring to...

for a moment there, I thought you meant your '09 [as well]

I would've had some questions for you.

Well, I do have that listed for sale in the classifieds here...

oh. and I was about to say you have the '09 to keep you company.

I don't know why the '09 is on its way out, but I will say I hope everything is ok tbjs.

It is fun to drive my old one, I get the chance every couple months since I sold it to a friend.
Granted my memories of driving it are far better than how it feels to drive it now if that makes since.

Granted fish stories or college girlfriends probably fall into the same category.

Work was off last year. I can certainly afford the '09 but I don't have as much freedom as before to go on vacations and such.

So I listed it. If someone really likes it and is willing to pay good money, I'll sell it. If not, I'll keep it. No rush...

Yeah, it's great to be able to see an old car after you've sold it.

All of us, some day, will be joining you by selling our Vs. I'm anticipating the numbness you describe.

My plan was to never sell the V. I planned to keep it forever. DAMMIT.

It was up to $16G. But, a front clip, a couple doorskins and fender work is all it really needed. And an oil pan.

SHO guys are not necessarily Ford guys. The SHO attracted all types. There are a ton of former SHO owners driving Vs now...

SHOs are cleaning up in those LeMons type series.

Actually, the new owner texted me today that he got it turned over. I'm pretty psyched...

I guess you're correct - 10 of them would make a ton... :stirpot:

At least you sold it to a friend so the old V won't totally dissappear. You can instruct him in the finer points of racing...

No driving this year but I'm flying to Atlanta for the Petit LeMans. Hope to see the Cadillacs there again this year.

If you ever make it to this coast the tracks are ready and waiting, I had to test Thunderhill last Friday....

Sorry to hear about the car Jim but at least you visitation rights!

How is the 09 treating you?

thebigjimsho
05-08-12, 09:24 AM
The '09 is doing well. Will need to replace the front rotors before getting back on the track. But, even with the mods, it runs like stock. No problems...
