Meet great folks, Learn, Drive, and have a great day at the track!

Did you know that the Cadillac Challenge is open to showroom cars and drivers of all experience levels?

Many drivers that have never touched tires on a track before are able to move up to at least the intermediate class by the end of their first day on the track. And you truly can have a great day at the track with a bone stock Showroom (C1) class vehicle.

A typical day at the track encompasses numerous run groups, so as a novice you will never have to race in the same group as the Modified or Unlimited drivers. Furthermore we have extraordinarily qualified coaches involved with the Challenge. Furthermore many of the Unlimited and Modified drivers will be more than happy to ride along and coach since they are running in different sessions.

All that we ask is that you have your vehicle be ready and able to pass tech, and have a helmet. The Cadillac Challenge coaches and other drivers will help you learn the rest!

The URL should be http://cadillacrace.com/. the other url goes to a culinary challenge, and you can't drive a 5 course meal around the track!

Technically you won't pass tech. No one has ever even looked at my helmet though. I picked up a great one for under $300 online. Might be worth it just to update. It's your head after all. :-)

For anyone else in the Western region, I can't overstate how great the Challenge is. I certainly count as a novice and I've been having the time of my life. Anyone tottering on the brink of giving it a whirl but has reservations, feel free to PM and I'll answer any questions you might have from the newb perspective. Not only will you surely not regret it, you'll probably have the time of YOUR life.

A new helmet it is then. I was fortunate enough to have friends who could rent out Willows Springs streets and between a dozen of us have the track for a day with a professional driver who took each of us turn by turn. Last time I did it was in a 99 Cobra with IRS, 373s, H&Rs, CC plates, pulleys, Bassani and CAI. It was a blast.. The Michelins had to be replaced but they were at 50% anyways.

I have a Pyrotech. www.helmetcity.com. http://www.helmetcity.com/page/HC/PROD/pyrotect/proairflowfullface. Nothing fancy but I like it. It's light and got good reviews. I also picked up a donut for my neck which I definitely appreciate having. It will be good to see you guys out there!
