i know i could have revived the old thread, but im too lazy to look for it right now, and i like making new things :bonkers:

anyways, what do you folks think of the season so far? any team surprise anyone here? here's my take thus far:

my eagles are better than expected, T.O. and donovan mcnabb are hooking up like crazy,
peyton manning looks to break dan marino's record,
K.C.'s collapse has been a surprise to say the least,
carolina has been too...somewhat,
pittsburgh has been revived behind the rookie ben hamburgler or whatever his name is,
new england still wins when they have to,
and lets not forget the chargers...the chargers?!? yeah, thats right, the chargers!

what's your take folks?

Yeaaaa New England. Always comin through, even though half the team is injured. Whats goin on with the chargers, haven't heard much with this stupid NBA scandal.

whats with the chargers?

simple -- drew brees is playing pro-bowl level football thus making phillip rivers look like a bust, and rivers has yet to play. too bad brees is in his last year of his contract with S.D. he is playing with complete fire right now...someone will have a hell of a QB next season, it just won't be the chargers.

N.E. is just too good to ever, ever, ever be counted out. they get hurt, put a wide reciever in at cornerback, and they still kick peoples ass'. just a damn good team, and 2 rings in 3 years is all the proof that is needed...until the eagles de-throne them in this years superbowl! :lildevil:

You'll see about that superbowl my friend, thats if we can take down the steelers, who also happen to be aflame.

right about where i hoped. ravens are 7-3 and have a great chance at 10-6. hopefully that will make the playoffs in the afc. and they've done it with a lot of good players out. at one time they had 4 pro-bowlers out for the same game.

the ravens are ripe to upset the steelers when they play again late in the season, but may not be enough to win the division from the steelers. and 10-6 will make the playoffs in the afc...9-7 will not. the ravens have a tough schedule with games at pittsburgh, new england, and indianapolis, not in that order.

so far for the afc, it looks to be pittsburgh, new england, indianapolis, san diego, denver, and baltimore. i just don't think the jets and jaguars will have enough down the stretch to make it in the strong afc.

it doesn't matter though, all possible afc teams that can make it to the big game will run into a train wreck when phiily beats the piss out of them  :hide: :p

The only thing I know is that my steelers are doing great. It would be no surprise if they make it to the superbowl...
Go steelers!!!!
:woohoo:

1000th post!!!

yeah, i have absolutly no life huh?

yeah, the high point of the day for me is talking about football on a cadillac forum... :(

oh well, the jets will need 10-6 to make the playoffs in the AFC this season. how confident are you that pennington will be 100% when he gets back in the line-up?

peyton manning...41 td passes in 11 games...someone needs to stop this guy...na, maybe not...he's just too damn good and fun to watch.

Manning is playing that position better than anyone has ever played it. Yesterday was historic. He'll break Marino's record with three games to spare.

damned bucs , damn damn damn .....

pathetic ....that all i can say ......unforetunatly im the only one that says "fire gruden".....i told people this would happen fi they got there way to send tony dungy packin , sure enough it came true , but at least dungys momentum carried us to our superbowl victory , but i think itll be another 20+ years before we show up again

yesterdays loss to carolina was so much of a rerun of last years game , even tho gramatica had most if not all his kicks blocked i seriously think carolina has something on defense that tampa is not countering , 2 years in a row its happend , it cant be all gramatica ......

It's pretty obvious now that Dungy is a far superior coach to Chucky. I thought so when Dungy left TB. The way Gruden has run TB down in the last two years is criminal.

for sure ...no one saw the changes dungy made and how much of a turnaround we had because of him , i think everyone really did see the changes and how close we were getting to those superbowl rings and got frustrated and blamed him insated of just waiting it out a bit longer ....

what do we have now ? no more mckay , no more lynch , no more sapp (jurys still out on that one cuz of his ataitude), pretty soon no more brad johnson , fans blamed the quaterback that brought us our ring , but never gruden , now there looking at gramatica ...plain and simple we wore gramatica out becuase our coach could only get us an offense that worked only to get grmatica into his area where he could kick a goal , they couldnt seem to get any closer to 40 something yards to get into the end zone ....you cant expcet to relay on a guy to kick a very long ball for possesion after possestion season after season and not expect to wear him out ....they live a very long time if you use them like you should , an extra point after the TD and in a pinch every once and awhile to break a tie in the 4th ..gramatic was probabaly the best mule in the leage , but all that kicking left him with a busted up groin muscle that wont heal in the time gruden gives him ......

dungys proof is in the colts puddin , they look alot like we did in the years just before our championship ...good thing the colts are my second favorite team ...gives me something to smile about this season

the glazers (owners) are to foucsed on getting some brit soccer team to think about the home fires and to step in here and either bring the reins in on gruden or fire his arse....

at the end of yesterdays game gruden should have been fired and told to find his own way home......and for now let monte kiffen run the show

I think it's safe to say that if Dungy had stayed in Tampa, and if Chucky had stayed in Oakland, the Super Bowl would've had the same matchups that year.

And the outcome would've been the same, too.

And the Raiders would suck about the same today.

But the Bucs would still be in contention.

i'll agree that chucky won the superbowl with dungy's team, but i also think oakland would be MUCH better off than they are now if gruden was still there. callahan completely screwed the raiders up,and that is why he was axed. the players revolted against him in the first half of last year, and they have not recovered since. the raiders will sloly but surely come back under turner, just not this year. and it would be silly to think that collins of gannon will take this team back to the next level. collins is far too inconsistant, and gannon is too old and fragile.

right now, gruden is trying to make "his" team, separating it from being "dungy's" team. next season, i believe they will be back in the thick of things. i think griese can be a decent qb for a while, but tampa needs to base their offense on the run and the dunk pass - grudens offense -, which greise is good for.

And despite all this, Bill Bellichick is still one of the best coaches in the NFL.

yeah, he is. he learned his lesson from coaching cleveland all those years back. when butch davis gets the axe, watch out for his next coaching venture...

No question. These debates may all be a waste of time. N.E. & Philly are the teams to beat. Colts & Steelers might get lucky, but I doubt it.

Yea, but the way Peyton has been playing, it may be a little challenge for us, but we usually have no problem squashing the colts, its the steelers I'm nervous about.

Arr. As a KC fan I'm disappointed. With such a good offense we should be winning a few more. When the defense holds it down, things like the 56-10 vs Atlanta happen. As for the Chargers, well them doing good just means the Chiefs get to be dead last in the AFC west. Although my cousin is a Chargers fan, and San Diego is a nice city, so I can't dislike them.

good new for cheifs fans is that vermiel WILL be back next season, as will the chief in the win column.

their defense has been thus far ugly. they have let everyone walk all over them, including the panters and texans, at home!

gunter cunningham will have a betetr defense next year, but im afraid he will need more talent than what he has to work with now. the talent simply cannot do what he is asking, and that plugging in weak areas for them to play to their strengths, which seems to be none.

Good news bad news for Bucs fans ....

We had to say goodbye to Gramatica ......and not Gruden ......Farewell Automatica

^You guys lost twice man. You have Gruden, who sucks, and now a decent kicker Gramatica gone.

Stoneage_Caddy
12-02-04, 03:24 PM
he was decent to be honest ....the last 2 years he hasnt been right , his hearts in the right place and his kicks are awesome in practise , but somethigs happens when he gets on the feild .......

not much left of our superbowl team ........but look what we have now ...we got pittman the wife beater !!!!

we still have jerivious or whatever you spell his name , not only a damn good football player but an asset to the community , but if hes going to come close to a role int he community like lynch was hes got a ways to go ........

Im a little diffrent , not only should they be good at the game but help out in the community , not be the top story becuse they were arrested .....

Pats and Eagles are my two favorite teams in that order...

so you could say I'm enjoying the season so far, and yes, I liked them both back when they sucked so let me enjoy myself now!!

:coolgleam My Steelers are doing surprisingly well, especially with a rookie QB. Us locals say "Stillers" though.

even though the steelers knocked the piss out of the eagles ( :banghead: ) and the patriots, i am still wondering if they can be clutch in the playoffs.

bucs fans: don't worry, in the NFC, they are still in the hunt, even at 4-7.

my concern for my eagles in the post-season is the packers: they're on fire and noone can seen to take them...then again, i have seen their schedule:

detroit, washington, houston (almost gave this one up), minnesota (very close home game), dallas, and st.louis.

so, i am wodering, is their record an aberration do to their lighter schedule? or are they for real?
