I test drive cars for a living - and write about them too - and this is what made it into my driveway for the week: 2012 Cadillac Escalade Hybrid with less than 1,500 miles on it. I took a pic alongside the V to see if I could spot the family resemblance. Two different worlds of driving right here!

Actually makes your V look small :) I park next to a C6 at work and it always makes my car look huge.

you would not believe how amazing it feels to slip back behind the wheel of the V after a day of driving the Escalade.

Great post, repenttokyo! Hope you had fun driving (and writing about!) your Escalade experience. :)

Enjoy being back in your V,

I know kind of how you feel. My wife has a Sonota Hybrid due to long commuting. When I drive that, I long to get back in my V. The gas mileage savings is huge though. What kind of mileage did the Escalade get?

Try putting 70k miles a year on a Town Car, then come back to me...

I worked for Hertz when I first got my car... I'd be in and out of all kinds of POS cars for 11 hours a day and then get in the V and it would make me happy again. I did like our new Cadillacs we had in the fleet though. The interior quality on those puts my v1 to shame.

Sounds like one heck of a job you got there. Two awesome vehicles. Cadillac is doing things right!

I ended up averaging 14-mpg, all city. Not super impressive, but the engine hadn't been broken in yet.

LOL... some hybrid. I thought the city was where it had the biggest gains??

I only put roughly 200 miles on it, and I wasn't driving it carefully. Some people report much better results than what I saw.

It was also pretty damn cold in Canada last week, so that kept the engine on more than what might be considered normal.
