Don't pay $400. The ones that are $400 are non-oem grade grilles. The OEM grille is around $200. There is one on e-bay right now or you can order them from www.gmpartsdirect.com with part number 15147586.

E-Bay. I bought mine for around $200. It came directly from a dealer in 3-days. It was in an unopened GM box.

the $400 grille includes the bottom grille. This part cannot be purchased OEM for the CTS. So for the additional $200 you are getting the lower grille.

Wouldn't they be sold separately? There is a different part number for the upper and lower grill.

The aftermarket grille does come with the lower mesh section. I don't know if the factory offers the lower mesh or not.

the lower grille that Cadillac offers only fits the CTS-V. The lower mesh grille for the CTS can only be gotten from E&G. They do not sell the lower grille only so if you want the lower grille you have to buy the whole aftermarket package from E&G.

Anyone know if that CTS-V grille will fit on a SRX?

It will fit just as well as a Mini Cooper grill. And they fit pretty well.

No reason why it shouldn't. E&G makes one. As far as the lower grille, don't know about the conversion on the SRX to a lower V grille. Are you thinking about putting an entire V front on an SRX or just the upper mesh grille? :hmm: http://www.egclassic.com/cadgrille28.htm

I like the real V grille over the E&G one and it is cheeper. I would love to put the CTS-V front end on my SRX, do you know if that will work. I would need to check on cost too.

Thanks

The CTS front fascia is smaller than the SRX. From looking at the picture link that was shown on the other post, it looks like there are mesh inserts on the lower section of the SRX. Hope you find what you need.

I know from experience that the SRX grill is larger and will not fit the CTS :banghead:

Will this same grille from gmpartsdirect #15147586 fit the 05 model as well? I heard their may be some installation issues with them.

the lower grill is larger on the v than on the standard cts because of the brake cooling ducts bElow the foglamps, so the lower v grill won't fit the cts

But the top grille will fit on the 05 CTS right?

No, it does not, because the lower grille area is not the same on the base CTS. If you want the lower grille, you have to go aftermarket. This is due to difference in lower fascia on the V.

Is the top grille easy to install? Do the screws just pop off on the old ones?

About a dozen retainers. Most of us that has done this by clipping the old retainers with side cutters and replace with new ones. Pop the new ones in from the top side, its easier. Side retainers a bit difficult to reach :annoyed:

The grille available from vogue tire mounts the same way the factory one does. Also, the lower mesh installs quickly and easily.

I have an 05 CTS. And they have about 4 black retainers (I guess thats what you call them) holding in the factory grille. I can't pop those damn things off though.

I'M BETTING YOU GOT 12 RETAINERS. FOUR ARE AT THE TOP. THE THINGS ARE CHEAP. GET'EM AT YOUR PARTS DEPARTMENT. SIDE CUTTER WORK FINE. THEIR ALL ACCESSIBLE FROM THE BACK OFF THE GRILL. THE ONE ON THE SIDE ARE A LITTLE TOUGHER. YOU'LL NOTICE THE RETAINERS ARE INSTALLED FROM THE BACK SIDE. WHEN YOU REINSTALL, INSERT THEM FROM THE TOP AT THE REAR OF THE GRILL. THAT'S A MUST! NO FRIGIN' WAY CAN YOU INSTALL LIKE AT THE FACTORY. IT DOESN'T MATTER SINCE EITHER SIDE HOLD THE GRILL IN PLACE. THIS IS THE WAY THE REST OF US HAVE DONE IT. GOOD LUCK. SORRY FOR THE CAP LOCK:(

This issue has come up before. I don't think you're gonna find one. You might wanna give some consideration to fabricating your own from mesh stock. It's available from several suppliers on the internet.

Yo CRock, go here http://www.usspeedonline.com/page/U/CTGY/CTS
The site has the entire V-grille set on their page, but if you call them at 800-291-9861 the customer service rep will tell you that you can get just the lower grill for $139. I hope it is a perfect match with your currentt V grille!

Crock,
You should be able to do it in less than 45 minutes. Here's my post from earlier in this thread. The only tool you'll need is a pair of side cutter and two Buds.

its easy.. the hardest thing it reaching behind .. i bent the front bumper to reach in by the latch and cracked the top of my bumper.. thats the main reason i got it painted. be carefull i would take off the bumper and do it.. but then again you dont have to. if i had to redo it i would definitly take the bumper off and do it. just my 2 cents.

Ooh man:crying2: You cracked your bumper? How did you ever do that? It really is an easy job. Having big hands can make it uncomfortable on the sides retainers. I had my wife clip the side retainers. Crock, what's it gonna cost you to repair your bumper?:crying2:

I was reluctant to do the V mesh grill, but I wondered what it would look like painted black. After seeing these photos, I might have to do it in the spring.

either way you still have to take ot off to paint it right.. so get the v for that trouble.
