: Bump...

When I go over a bump, my V feels like it has something loose like the wheel is about to fall off. Wheels are 150 ft-lbs so it is not that and correct PSI. I wonder if it is the steering, hubs, struts, or the D3 sway bars. I hear it when I go over any bumps, manhole cover, pothole, driveway, turning - it just feels like something is going to get loose at any moment. Any ideas?? Sorry for the vague, non-mechanical symptoms. Thanks in advance for any help.

I believe the torque spec' for the wheels is about 150 ft-lbs. Someone correct me if I'm wrong on that.

I keep seeing that it's supposed to be 158 ft-lbs.

OK - 2011 CTS-V Manual page 12-3, Vehicle Data, shows wheel lug torque at 140 ft-lbs.

I thought the tsb for wheel clicking upped it to 158ft-lbs

I doubt it has anything to do with the wheel torque. I would suggest starting at the aftermarket work done on the front end. If not done properly and to proper spec things can get loose. This can be a real safety issue and should be looked at sooner than later. Don't just get under there and start shaking things by hand. The forces at work here are much stronger than you are.

I'm with commander112. The problem is probably not wheel torque.

By the way, the manual will say 140 while the TSB says 158. In either case, the number of lb-ft specified is a lot more than 105.

I, also, agree with commander112. Aftermarket changes are the first suspects.

I edited the post to reflect my 150 ft-lbs which was a typo. I will look for torque specs on sway bars and struts

Some cars had those lock nuts loosen on the control arms, so make sure those haven't moved.
