Could use some detailing under there don't ya think. some new vacuum lines clean the wires and some braided hoses what you think ? what would you do? Katshot 02-08-03, 09:40 AM You guys want to show off you Caddy's, put them in the Cadillac section of CarDomain.com Dead Sled 02-09-03, 12:42 AM I'm trying to attract a little bit more traffic into the pushrod area. seems like there are only about 5 non north* engines on this board Vern 02-10-03, 07:33 PM Yea lets see a 425, well that would need the Edelbrock aluminum intake, the Q-jet setup for performance, an MT-10 cam, some headers, fresh paint on the valve covers some new 8.5mm wires maybe a little chrome. I know get another air breather from the junk yard then get a little grinder and make that air cleaner a dual snorkle. Yea its eazy to spend somebody else's money to spruse up that engine bay real quick. This spring I will get some pics of my 509 and see if I can get them on the net. Whos got pics? Dead Sled post some pics when you get that thing cleaned up. :) Dead Sled 02-10-03, 08:15 PM sure can, thanks I got it cleaned up a little bit, but I will be doing all right when I get the 425 out and the 500 in I like to go black with red trim Black block, Cadillac Aluminum valve covers. paint the sheetmetal under there black and the whole frame Red, red vacuum lines. new wire looms, red fasners. A little bit of chrome Braided hose with AN fittings. I'd like to move the battery to the back somewhere so I can free up a little room along theat fender where all the hoses bunch together Vern 02-11-03, 11:25 AM Sounds great are you building a 500 now? What are your plans for it? Did you see the pic of the 500 in the Green Camaro in Car Craft or something the other month? Mine is Cadillac blue block brackets & pulleys. Aluminum intake chrome valve covers & air breather. Light grey full length coated headers. Dead Sled 02-11-03, 08:26 PM I dont have the 500 yet, But I'm keeping my eyes out. I wish I had the room for the full lengths, it TIGHT on the pass side. plans are for 500 HP It all might have to hold off untill I get back from where ever over seas. If I do end up over there I know where the moneys goin when I get back. toomanytoyz 02-24-03, 10:16 PM I have a pushrod V8 too! :D I'll be installing a new cam in it in a few weeks. Going with the Chevy ZZ3 cam and some nice valve springs. I'm shooting for mid to high 13's on the motor at the track. :) Hope this'll get me close... Sorry I don't have any better pics: http://www.uniquekind.net/caddypage/Images/TopEngineQuad1s.jpg Dead Sled 02-25-03, 12:01 AM hey, looks good Night Wolf 03-16-03, 01:56 AM the (real dirty) engine compartment of a '89 Brougham it is the Olds 307 producing a earth shaking 140hp@ 3200rpms and 255ft. lbs. tourqe @2800rpms BTW how do you clean your engine bay? when you go to the car wash do you just use the high pressure water or what? http://gaownersclub.com/forum/attachment.php?s=&postid=40768 AKPsiMC03 03-16-03, 09:37 AM NEVER use a pressure washer on a motor. just use some spray on degreaser and a garden hose. Night Wolf 03-16-03, 10:21 AM Originally posted by AKPsiMC03 NEVER use a pressure washer on a motor. just use some spray on degreaser and a garden hose. ok, that's what I was thinking, I know at our car wash you can choose between high pressure rinse or spot-less free (much lower pressure) so I wonder if that would work too Dead Sled 03-17-03, 07:22 PM I use a pressure washer every once in a while but am VERY careful on where I point it EastOfGratiot 01-08-04, 09:55 PM My 1979 Seville with a big Olds pushrod. MMNineInchNails 01-08-04, 10:58 PM NEVER use a pressure washer on a motor. just use some spray on degreaser and a garden hose. why wouldn't you ever use a pressure washer on an engine? As long as you don't hit the alternator or get water down the carb, you're fine. What's wrong with it? ChiMick 02-02-04, 12:28 PM Perhaps this is obvious to some, but PLEASE make sure that your engine has cooled down before you wash it! I learned this the hard way by cracking a head. :halo: SixDeuceDubDeuced 02-10-04, 05:13 PM My 61 http://www.rankmyride.com/data//a/5/3385//.large/pict0171_2.jpg http://www.rankmyride.com/data//a/5/3385//.medium/pict0175_1.jpg My 78 http://www.rankmyride.com/data//a/5/3385//.large/pict0026.jpg http://www.rankmyride.com/data//a/5/3385//.large/pict0027.jpg | |
