Here is a crappy phone pic of my new forged Team Dynamic 18X9 wheels mounted with Continental Extreme Contact DW tires 245/45 -front 275/40 - rear. Sean at was great to deal with. He was able to get the wheels setup to accept the caps (Only the black ones took the caps). Wheels weigh 22lbs. and the lightweight lugs weigh .8oz (stock lugs are 2.2oz). Hope to post some better pics soon.

One last pic without the cap.(one of the caps didn't fit waiting on new one) The silver ones typically dont come with caps. Sean Southland with TrinityTek Racing hooked me up with getting the rims fitted to accept them.

Rims look great man. also have some Team Dynamics on my CTS. Haven't seen anyone else with them by chance do you know if were able to replace the center caps with some cadillac ones i want to keep it as stock looking as possible?

LOL...must have some pretty low 4x4's in Florida. Chicago and lowering the V is not a marriage made in heaven :thehand:

I ordered these a few weeks ago from Sean as well and am still waiting on mine. It's driving me nuts not having them, even though I don't even have tires yet.

What lugs are those? Were they included? (guessing not)

He mentioned I got the last set in stock. The lugs are Vision Motorworks; I picked them up from Speedmotoring on Ebay. Sean sells them also but was out of stock at the time.

Interesting...I was told I got the last set in stock. I think they said they ordered 4 or so sets. I ordered on 3/22 and still have yet to hear anything. When did you order yours?

Huh. Checked my email convo and he definitely says it's the last set on 3/22 when I ordered. He said it would be 8 weeks before the next batch so I hope mine aren't getting lumped in with that. We'll see what he says. It's already been about 3 weeks. When did yours arrive? Sorry for a million questions, I'm just anxious to get mine.

Mine were delivered early last week. They are worth the wait.

My black TD wheels are shipping today! I originally wanted the silver ones but they weren't available until the end of May. Then I figured that the look of my black V with my chrome stockers wouldn't change much with the Silver wheels. I wanted a new, different look.

Anyone picking up the black wheels should remember to get the black stemmed TPMS sensors and black lug nuts. I went with the Vision nuts as well.

I can't wait!

I changed the stripes to matte black. The flash is reflected in the first shot but it naturally looks more like the second one. I think it'll look really slick with the black wheels!

Ok, how in the hell did you get the center caps to fit? I tried putting them on before and after putting the lugs on and they don't fit no matter what once the wheel is on the hub. It's like the hole was only machined large enough to clear the hub, not mount the caps.

Here's a quick shot of my V with the driver's side wheels mounted. This shot was before the caps were installed. I will take better shots later. The rubber is 245/40/18 (Fr) and 275/40/18 (Rear) Hankook V12 Ventus Evo's.

I think they are all true racing wheels. The caps that actually fit are somewhat new. Mine melted during a track event.

You're supposed to take the caps out for track events. Plastic + high brake temps = ... But mine were supposedly machined for the caps. I'll have to call and see what can be done. Ugh.

Can somebody measure the ID of the hole to see how large it is? The caps fit in the wheels as is, but don't clear on the hubs.

I've been shown that there are actually two different wheels that you can get. Ones like mine, where the rears won't fit. And ones with a thicker ring for the hub, as shown in these pictures sent by tigerlion.

I ordered mine from Sean at TrinityTEK like everyone else, oddly. I tried confirming with TD USA to get a set that would work with the caps, and Sean himself said they had been machined for the caps. Turns out it's a freaking lottery with what you'll actually get, the "track" wheels (like mine) or the street wheels (above) that fit the caps. Very disappointed that I can't run rear caps because of this, I wish I hadn't bought the wheels in the first place now as I spent weeks trying to confirm that the caps would fit between every place that sold the wheels that I could find.

I use to have some that were custom made to fit in there but one day I lost one. Now I'm capless but I kind of like it. However if I could have my pick, I would try to figure out how to make these fit: http://www.ebay.com/itm/SUPER-NEW-COOL-CHROME-Cadillac-V-Series-Center-Caps-STS-CTS-SRX-XTS-Emblem-/280855492188?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item41644ab65c&vxp=mtr

I have a set with caps installed its somewhat tight on the rear axle but they should flush I have a 07. If I am understanding this correctly wouldn't a 3-5mm spacer solve the problem or is there an actual difference with the center bore material hard for me to see in those pictures. I can snap a picture with mine off and on if needed. Also for anybody looking at these the center caps are cheap plastic, mine already have moisture behind the clear plastic face and the metal ring fell out of one and the inside plastic tabs are busted or almost useless on 2 of them. Some of this is my fault as I let NTB install the center caps first go(bent/broken tabs) and I also did a track day with them installed(moisture behind the clear face??) but in the end they are just plastic. I am considering painting them flat black to match the wheels. The faux bolts around the outside of the center caps are dumb as well.

Larimer
04-26-12, 08:43 PM
The wheels themselves are different. There's a raised lip on the hub that puts the caps further out on some of the wheels. A spacer may solve it, but I'm not looking to add spacers.

I had a chance to look at mine and see what you mean. I would stay after it with td usa see if they make it right, they should offer different models of the wheels ie street and track. The wheel is a great deal for this car they would sell even more if they advertised it with center caps. I assume yours came with caps like mine did no fit should mean defective product.

Larimer
04-27-12, 02:08 PM
The best Sean could do was offer that when they get another set in to send them to me and exchange. But I'd pay shipping, and I'd have to dismount and remount my tires. No thanks. The other option is to try and find some center cap spacers or something which we're looking into now. It's pretty annoying that nobody knew what was available for these wheels since I emailed for WEEKS trying to make sure I got a set that would fit with caps.

Dem, if I don't get the cap solution worked out I may try the spacers and see if they fit. How thick are yours?

I don't think that's an option at this point for me or him. I'd like to be able to rotate tires so hopefully a cap or spacer solution will be the final answer.
