I'm about to order the supercharger but I'm up in the air about which brand to go with. I'm looking at a Vortech kit? Any feedback guys?

A couple of us have recently installed the unit from Magnacharger.
I've had mine for two weeks now and it's great. Moderately quiet and the power increase puts a grin on my face..highway cruising finds you in double digits without notice. What I really like is smooth linear throttle response from all the torque. I'd say just do it (Magnacharger) Their product has been around for a long time and is well proven. I don't street race but lets say I gave a few red light demonstrations already and left a few unsuspecting wondering what happened :)

Murphy do you have any video of the loudness when driving of the whine? Outside revving of the engine if possible? Thanks

I don't but might be able to put something together in a day or two...mine seems to be quieting down a little since new..There is really zero whine when cruising..you only hear it when accelerating.

Nice looking Escalade! I was thinking about upgrading mine as well. How much did it cost to install Magnacharger? Is it a must to upgrade your brakes? Do you know how fast it is 0-60? Also does it mess up your factory warranty? Thanks!

Thanks for the compliment. The charger runs about $8-9K...It is not a must for brakes but if you make the truck quicker...does it not make sense to increase the stopping performance ? It does 0-60 in just over 5 secs/ish . Factory warranty is history..

They sure will! And you pay out the ass to retain it most likely.

They may offer some form of warranty but it won't be the factory GM warranty..

how's the gas mileage with the supercharger? My escalade is my daily driver (~50 miles a day), but I wouldn't mind having a little more pep...

Gas mileage is really unaffected, until you put your put your foot into it and activate the boost. :)

Question, I read that you must use minimum 91 octane, and no E85. What would happen if the wife made a mistake and put in less than 91?

Well my wife never drives it but if she did and did put in lower grade fuel not much would happen unless she drove it into high boost where it MAY detonate...I would really doubt any serious damage could be inflicted. I think one would have to try real hard...like maybe towing a boat or trailer on a hot day..the PCM would simply likely pull timing and it would perform like a dog..

Thanks ! I am thinking of doing the SC next year after the factory warr. Runs out. I have decided to do the StopTech BBU, but I am still waiting to see if anyone has done them with stock 22's on the Platinum ESV. I need to check with the template, but I am sure someone out there has used ST. I would hate to add spacers to make it work.
