Plan is to take a wheel off and go through the wheel well.
Where did people mount the ballast? or did you just zip tie?
Any tips are appriciated.

Going with 55w slim ballast 5000k from ddm.

Not sure about where to put the ballast, but there's plenty of room. However, instead of going through the wheel well, I recommend just removing the bumper fascia. I just did it to PlastiDip my grills. It's pretty darn easy.

Three clips in each fender well liner
Several clips at bottom of bumper
A few clips under the hood
Two 10mm bolts on the bumper
- One on each side
- After loosening fender liner, the bolts are vertical from the bumper fascia to the fender
Then pull
When loose, disconnect headlight washers by removing white clip
Disconnect fog lights
Un-clip hose from bottom of fascia
Disconnect brake vents
Remove

While you're there, if you're interested, you can PlatiDip the Grills.

Wait...Hold On...Just noticed you appear to have an '04. Is that true? If so, my instructions may be wrong. These are for '09 and later.

I sold the 2004 and have a 2010.
Going through the wheel liner was easy. Nice shelf above the fog light housing to sit the ballast. Some 3M tape and it's good.
5000k 55w is slightly bluer than stock headlights.

I wanted to come close to matching. 55w 4500k look whiter than stock and 5000k look bluer. I am sure 4500k 35w would probably come the closest to matching.
I snapped a bunch of pictures but they are on my friends camera. I will make sure to post them up once I get them. It will help someone visualize the project before they start it.

There are some vendors on here that sell them as well. But I got DDM 55w slim ballast for $65 shipped to the door.

Captain McFunk,

I bought mine a few weeks ago from Cloud Sourcing in SoCal. 626.369.8499; ask for Bobby. If you want your HID's to match OEM BiXenon's, you will want the 4500's. Just tell him if you want that or the brighter ones. $75 and REALLY look good IMHO

Howdy - I noticed the D3 4300 HID are $149for the fog replacements. Others on this thread are listed around $65 and $75. Any difference in product, quality, warranty, any of that crap???

Thanks!

I am going to install HID along while I plasidip my grills. Is there anything needed other than the kit shown from DDM? I am thinking 4500/35?

I bought my kit from a local stereo store and it was the easiest mod I've done so far on my car, I used double sided tape and stuck the ballasts to the inside of the fog bezels on the bumper

Is there any wiring harness that is needed? Im about to place an order with DDM. My goal is for them to match my stock headlights hence the 4500/35w.

Would there be a way to change them both to the brighter euro style?

Are you asking if you can replace the stock headlights with brighter or bulbs that are more of a blue/purple hue (higher kelvin)?

You could buy bluer bulbs for the headlight but bluer does not mean brighter, it is typcially less lumens for the same wattage.
