Gents.

I added the aux input per the writeup on cadillacfaqs and my right channel was comming across all screwy no bass or vocals. I searched on here and read through a few threads of people having the same problem. It wasn't until I came across a post and picture by Lolligagger that I saw what I had done
Wrong. The write up said that tan was common and green is a channel. This is wrong and green is the common and tan and brown are the channels. It hooked it up the same way as lolligagger and bingo great quality sound. I hope this helps you guys who had the same problem as me. Thanks again Lolligagger for your help.

Good info. It seems about 50% of us get it working correctly while the other half can't. I fall into the other half and perhaps I'll revisit it again to see if I can get it right. Although I remember trying every freaking possible combination...haha

Mine worked perfect first time. Use it every day.

Sometimes I plug it into my BT module (as pictured), sometimes right into the phone. With the Monotek phone mount, I can see the only info needed from the DIC (instant mpg):

You'll also notice a plug peaking out from behind the feather, it's another hardwired option to give me hands free phone calls:
Monster heaphone/mic adapter:

That mic works better with all the background noise than does the bluetooth. Hands free phone while driving with sound thru the speakers. I plan on moving the mic part to the overhead console near my radar detector controls.

Feathers and a crystal ball...

Are you a gypsy?

Almost, but that crystall ball is about 25yrs old & has been in every car I have ever owned. The feathers are from a dream catcher I got at a presentation on indian culture (ya ok, it was a casino, but they still did a presentation!).

it boils down to the fact that aftermarket 1/8 inch cables have different colored wiring inside. You need to experiment to make sure what channels are represented by what color wire in the particular cable you bought. There's no 'one' solution.

It wasn't my cable that was wrong it was the wire colors according to the write up. I did use a different cable but I ohmed it out before I even started.
