Ive got a 2011 EXT and it says i can use e85 or premium--Ive been using premium but last fill cost 130 bucks--E85 is 50/gal less---do i have to run the gas down to empty to fill with 85?? or can i just add it at will seems the computer will reset itself to E 85-how long does that take, and does the EXT run terrible with it thanks

E85 more power, burns faster, less MPG, you can add it at any time, computer will take 100-200 miles to refigure with normal driving

E85 has 70% of the energy content vs. regular E10 gasoline. As a result, you will get 70% of the MPG that you do on E10. The 13C/18H turns into 8.4/12.6 (rounded up to 9/13 in the Fuel economy guide, on page 15: http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/feg2011.pdf

Therefore, unless E-85 costs 70% or less what gasoline costs, it is not worth it. I have yet to see E-85 advertised for a price that makes sense given the above facts.

Tried it once in my Tahoe. I swear I could see the gas needle move it got burned up so fast. Power and sound were great, though.
