I did quite a few mods but nothing real extreme.

Performance mods:
Front & rear Hotchkis sway bars (same as for C6 Corvette)
D3 Stainless steel braided brake lines w/Teflon cover
Hawk HPS brake pads
Volant CAI
D3 Plug-In ECM w/Shakti On-Line Electromagnetic Stablizers
Torquemaster Quad Tip spark plugs
Lingenfelter 176* thermostat
Royal Purple 5-30W motor oil
FilterMag oil filter magnets for oil filter & transmission
Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires (in place of Pirelli Euforia run-flats)
(245/40/19 front and 275/35/19 rear)

Appearance mods:
D3 rear decklid spoiler
WindRestrictor (easy install but I had issues with the ends making contact with the leather panel underneath)
UltimatePedals shiny textured w/domed inserts (brake, emergency brake, gas pedal & foot rest)
Black V-Series license plate frame
Ceramic windshield tint / side & rear window tint (pre-installed)
Lloyd Rubbertite black floor mats & trunk mat
3M Clear Bra

Convenience mods:
Funkwerk Ego Bluetooth (pre-installed)
Smart Trio Pro iPhone dock station
Escort RedLine radar detector

Dynamat storage compartment, steering wheel knee bolster, rear license plate, hood & trunklid
Intend on Dynamatting the doors & door panels.

I'd like to install Corsa exhaust system but prefer more quiet.
I'm tempted to install the D3 headers one day. They look really nice!
I intend on installing the Mild 2 Wild wireless remote exhaust system controller in the future.

Welcome and enjoy. I'm a member of a group of XLR owners that had three XLR's in your neighborhood this week for the Sebring ALMS race.

Don't know if you're into car clubs/cruises, but we have several trips planned this year: cruise Indy to Harrisburg, Corvette Funfest, National Corvette Homecoming, and any Team Cadillac CTS-VR (World Challenge) races we can attend - I should be in St Pete next weekend and we always have a large group at Mid-Ohio and Road Atlanta.

The XLR is a stunning car and seeing 14-40 of them together is damn near stops traffic.

Beautiful. The XLR is still my favorite Cadillac... especially the V-series flavor. Besides the exhaust mods, any other more wild mods planned?

The first mod I would do (for any black/dark colored car that you value) would be to install a clear bra to the front of the vehicle to protect the paint from chipping and pitting from road rocks, gravel, debris, etc..
If you do a lot of driving (especially high-speed), over time it will look pitted up like it was sand blasted.
That was my number one priority when I got my XLR-V.
This will provide a barrier between the elements and the paint.

Just the D3 Intake which I had on the 06 STS V I traded...and the complete corsa exhaust which Amazon has a good price on it!
The STS V I could only get the mufflers! I lke the clear wind screen with the CADILLAC logo on it!
By the way... this car has the origional run flats on it they seem almost new, and they really grip the road...this car hauls ass with no wheel spin!!!
at 72 I don't drive much, but this car drives amazingly well when I do! LUVIT!:yup:

Hey Coati... A picture of the modified pedals would be appreciated! The company in Palm Beach doesn't seem to have the variety that PerformancePedals.com has!
Your thoughts!
Thanks...Hubbel:)

Before and after pics of Ultimate Pedals.
I decided to go with the shiny textured finish w/domed inserts.

Ultimate Pedals is in West Palm Beach, Fl.
Rob Baylor has excellent customer service!:)

Thanks Coati...They do dress up the pedals nicely!
One more little problem...I think I am missing the black cover that hides the air filter assembly!:(
Because I can see the edges of the white flat filter elements and there are holes to the right and left of the filters which looks like a cover belongs to hide that whole assembly!
Could You please post a picture of that cover!
Thanks again....

Hey Coati...
Thanks so much for the picture of that cover!...Would U believe the Head parts guy at Tropical Cadillac in Bradenton, Fla. can NOT find a part number for that cover, and even called GM and the dummies think it is an aftermarket cover!:bonkers:
if You Could possibly find either a casting number or part number on the cover it would put these guys in their place!!:bouncy:
Thanks much AGAIN...Hubbel!:worship:

This is a picture of the part label on the underside of my air intake shroud/cover.
The number on the label is: #3090111.
That should be the part number.
Good luck!

Those look nice! Much improvement over the dull black pedals. Does the floor cover make it slippery at all?

^in regards to your pedals/floormat lol

Thanks for the compliment.
I think they look much better than the stock pedals too.
For a $100K vehicle, Cadillac should have included them.

Actually the shiny textured heel guard w/domed inserts aren't too slippery at all.

90055900499005090051900529005390054To continue the saga...I had the complete Corsa System #14156 put in Friday! It took about 2 hours and the only snag was they had to cut the bracket from the origional system by the H piping and Mig weld it ahead of the Corsa bracket to meet the factory hanging springy bolts!!
Also the day before that I installed the D3 Stage one intake system using the origional accordian rubber tubing to hook it up! Piece of cake!:)
It sounds a little loud when I push it but perfectly quiet when cruising! Very well designed! Score another one for CORSA!:yup:

Did u feel any noticable difference in ride comfort and performance..thanks

hubbel

Well...The XLR V rides a little stiffer and has the perelli run flats which seem to ride harder anyway! It does not spin the rear tires when I get on it...It just goes!!:bouncy:
I wouldn't mind finding tires the would give me a softer ride, but these are so new it wil have to wait!
It also so sits verrry low and is a project to get in and out!
Since these are so rare...I get plenty of looks!:)

Congrats, looks awesome!

Love the windscreen, but I've had trouble contacting D3cadillac about buying a windscreen... Seems unprofessional to me, wish we had more options or companies willing to work on the V series.

BOYCHIKS,

Try Windrestrictor.com.
They made the windrestrictor for my XLR-V.

You deal directly with the manufacturer and have many options to choose from.

The WindRestrictor looks and feels like it belongs with the car.
