I have few inevitable paint chips around the rim. I never hit anything or rubbed anything, yet chips of paint went missing.
To add to the injury, my tire/wheel guys left few nice concentric thin (hair line thin) scratch all around the rim on all of my wheels as they mounted my new tires. They offered to powder coat the wheels as a fix.
I did hear bad things about repowder coating a wheel due to temperature used by most places. So I thought I would visit a local wheel touch up place to see if they can offer a quicker and a cheaper fix. The technician came out and saw the wheels. Then he said the rims look powder coated. He pointed out how relatively thick the paint was with no noticeable clear coat.
So I have two questions:
1) Are satin graphite wheels powder coated or painted?
2) I know few members have touched up small chips with marker and touch up paint. Anybody have them powder coated without a problem?
Thanks.
