has anyone done the metering mod on their rear disc fleetwood?

I'm going to do mine tomorrow most likely.

sometimes during hard braking it's as if i can feel the 2 part braking taking effect sort of like this..

I NEVER lose brake power its just that during a sudden brake i feel the pedal get a lil stiff then after about half or a full second maybe the pedal is a lil softer and i can then press down a lil further and the car stops evenly but this to me feels like the metering mod needed that many have posted about on the impala ss forums.

its strange during a slow stop i dont feel a difference but its only during a "panic stop" which i feel there are 2 firm feels to the pedal once about 1/4" down the pedal and another after a second which is probably 1/4" down the pedal of course the pedal feel is very delicate so i don't know exactly how far the pedal travels its just a feel to the pedal i don't like much its not dangerous and the car still stops but basically the car does feel like their is a delay from the brakes engaging to the front well anyway i'll tackle this tomorrow and post some feedback.

I doubt most ppl could tell the difference you need to be an attentive driver and most likely only a small percentage of us perfectionists would notice this small braking nuisance.

silly me for not doing this at the same time as my stealth bolt mod :banghead:

some more info on this here the first site has pics and the second site has a whole BIG explanation to the metering mod....

SUPER GREAT NEWS I did it today and it was soo easy the pics of the bolt are deceiving i thought it was a big bolt but it turns out to be pretty small and easy to grind i used a grinder and got it perfectly to how i wanted it took me 30 mins and I didnt mess up the threads and WALLA better braking even evener( :D ) than before you can feel the fronts engage right away as soon as u step on teh brakes i was actually amazed I went test driving tonight in rainy rainy weather pouring and did MANY MANY panic stops and didnt get any locking up i was so pleased, ill admit it wasnt pouring but its been raining all day and it was moderately raining at least i could see in front of me the true test will be when its pouring and theres no visibility ill test it again to see how well my tires perform under extreme rain.

i definitely recommend this mod to anyone who can do it its worth it trust me it makes your pedal feel like a newer stock 4 wheel disc car.

i didnt want to rush to the idea that it helped so i didnt decide until a couple miles of driving whether or not it actually helped but i'll say it did definitely help I couldn't live without it I'm just glad there are ppl smart enough to think of these adjustments to our cars that make it much more driveable.

if you've invested enough to do the rear discs to the 94-96 fleetwood then do this mod its completely free only drawback is you have to bleed your brakes which is kind of quick.
