: Plasti Dip: Lower front bumper center

Hey guys, I stole the idea from Mike on the lower center portion of the bumper. It looks great on his grey, so I figured it'd contrast even more on my white. Best thing is, i can peel it off down the road if I don't like it, AND it'll protect the lower portion from rock chips, etc. I'll have daytime pics of it when this rain stop. I might even go and do a rainy photoshoot, as they're pretty fun!

I like the contrast. Looks like a stormtropper helmet!

I know the guys in V1 have been doing this on light colored cars. Looks just as good here as it did on theirs...

Good idea. I might hit the lip with plastic dip.
Looks good.

I bought a gunmetal kit and I'm trying to decide whether I'm going to do the wheels or the grills/gills.

How's the Plasti Dip holding up on the wheels? My son is pushing me big time to do my polished wheels in black.

Adam: Did you end up doing the fog light trim with Plasti-Dip also? Car looks GREAT!

I was thinking of doing the same, but wasn't sure if I would like the look.

But after seeing your pics, I will be copying it.

Hold off on the wheels for now. I've got some peeling between the wheel and the tire, but i think it's because i couldn't spray in there good with the note cards blocking the tire. I think i'm going to spray again directly on the tire so I can get a good thick coating down in there, then it should hold, and i'll just peel the overspray off of the tires.

Yes, i did do the fog light bezels, and the rear plastic by the exhaust tips, and the front lower splitter all around the front bumper. Hands down this stuff looks awesome on the factory black plastic pieces.

Try just throwing some painters tape on the tire about 1/4" from the edge of the rim, then spray (similar to what they do on the tutorial videos for the chrome window surrounds on dipyourcar). Should be easy enough to peel it off around the edge of the tire at that point...

I might give that a shot, although idk how painters tape will stick to tires that have stuff on them. I saw a video on youtube of a guy that just sprayed it right on the tire, then went back with a tooth-pick and scooped the stuff straight out of the vein on the tires. Worked like a champ.
