After blacking out my grill, I decided to put the matte finish Di Noc carbon fiber film on the front lip. This version of the 3M product has a gray weave in it which goes well with the Thunder Gray Chromaflair.

.....and cheap, too! I bought a piece 8" X 36" (8" leaves plenty of slack to heat and pull the film tight over the "V seam/point" right in the middle of the lip to avoid making a "point" with the film). I think it was less than $15 on eBay.

That looks great. You should do the other two pieces.

I really like that...wonder how it would look on white......maybe I can "plasti-dip" mock up the lower flat black bumper to see....haha

Here is what I recently did to my V -- you can get an idea what the other to pieces would look like ... by the way I also installed the custom Chin center piece developed by "soon to V" on this site. If you buy his piece and fiber carboned all three pieces it would probably look great -- I love my new look! By the way I had the piece installed at my dealer and the painted the grills and all three chin pieces.

Do you have some other pics of the 3 pieces done? There is a sun glare in those photos that makes observing the Di Noc difficult.

Did you just Di Noc the bottom pieces? If you'll notice, I did the painted area under the bottom grill and left the hard rubber bottom lip stock.

I actually did not not use Di Noc film -- my pieces were painted by the dealer. I was actually trying to call attention to the custom designed filler piece created by "soon to V" that he describes / reviews in his post "Looking for one owner to test and report on my design" - You can see a different pic of my car - Post 27 in that thread that shows my car with out the sun glare.

I like the look of your car with Di Noc film - I was suggesting that with the custom piece and the other two pieces you kept as stock -- also Di Noc'd -- it would also look incredible at least from my perspective.

Welcome to my world, circa 2009. You will be pleasantly surprised how well that holds up, even with hard scrapes.

I had my fog light housings covered as well...

Mike,

Do you have anymore pics of your car showing off the blacked out grill? I have a Thunder Gray also and I want to black out my grill too while keeping the other pieces chrome, but I am a little hesitant because I have not seen any Thunder Grays with this set up.

tks,

Mike
