View Full Version : Second impressions of Corsa Exhaust. rushguy 11-16-04, 07:57 PM Well I've had it on a week and I have to say this is the best sounding car I've ever owned. I haven't put my windows up while driving in days, or turned on the radio. Press the gas down to make women and children run for cover. I've had no less than 1 person a day track me down and ask what the hell I have under the hood. Compliments from total strangers is that it sounds awesome, mean, amazing, beautiful and friggin bada$$. I don't go to Nascar races but when I run it thru the gears it sure sounds like a racecar to me. I have the LPE and now the Corsa, I wonder what headers would do to the sound and performance or if I should leave it as is. Can't imagine having it any louder, I mean its very subtle at idle and with the windows up its not obtrusive in the cockpit. Windows down you can hear what everyone else does and it is impressive. Granted I haven't had the pleasure of hearing any other systems on our cars in person but I can say if you want a strong performance sound then Corsa is awesome. I'm really loving this car but now I can hear it and not just feel it. I read your original post in which you said the car "really barks" with the Corsa system. I wasn't sure what that meant until two days ago when I got a demo of the Corsa exhaust on another owner's V. When he started the car, the exhaust literally barked out the sound of smallblock power with a real sense of urgency. It was beautiful; not too loud, but the true sound of "muscle" that I had hoped for when I bought the car. It reminded me of the BMW M5, which is a sweet sounding sedan, but better.
I ordered a Corsa immediately and hope to have it installed by early next week. Sweeeeeet! :worship: drdsgolf 11-16-04, 08:28 PM Well fellows, this is all music to my ears. I ordered my Corsa exhaust system this morning and can hardly wait to get it up and running. I already got a lot of attention for the car, 95% are guys who know the car. The new exhaust will seriously up the ante, I can tell.
ds ctsvinman 11-17-04, 02:04 AM My Corsa might be here tomorrow...... if not Friday at the latest. The wife is out of town Friday..... so everyone, please cross your fingers because Friday I might go out cruising for the first time in years! (I do go hunting for Mustangs and Camaro's, come on guys, I'm only human)
VinMan out..... PneuBird 11-17-04, 03:15 AM As one of the first to get the Corsa Exhaust on, I am overly pleased with it's fit and sound. I smile every time I start the "V" up. My biggest problem is keeping my foot out of it. I actually had a cop back his police car up to ask me about the exhaust yesterday. He scared the hell out of me :shocked2: Three tickets in 9 month is enough for me; I thought I was going to get another one!!!! CTSVLS6 11-17-04, 06:33 AM Here is my second impression of the system. Last friday we went to Corsa to have the production system installed, Jim replaced the prototype system with a production system. I must say that the production system is louder, it seem to (as other people are saying) bark when you start it and going through the gears the sound is awsome. I believe I like the sound of the production system a lot better than the prototype. While we were there Jim gave me the keys to his new C6 Vette, 6 speed, with there new sport exhaust system on it. The sound is allmost the same as the V and I must say the car runs very strong. It is amazing what 700 less pounds does for the performance of a car. Thanks again to Jim and Jim Jr. and Corsa for a great sounding system, and for the chance to drive your new C6. :burn: Vlightful 11-17-04, 11:48 AM Glad to hear the positives on Corsa System. :D Hope to get my ordered and installed in the near future but As the SNOW will arrive soon here in WI. I had to order Mille Miglia MM-S rims and Dunlop M-3 Snows 1st! Who is doing the installs on the Corsa-dealer, self, or other shops? I will probably have the dealer install mine. I look foreward to dashing thru the snow with a nice rumble behind me. :lildevil: I'm having mine done at my (new) dealership. With the Cadillac/Corsa alliance, it makes sense to do it that way as long as one is comfortable with the dealership workmanship and price. I'm far too lazy to do it myself!
It took me awhile to pull the trigger on purchasing an exhaust because I didn't want to turn a sleek Cadillac sedan into the American equivalent of the rice burners with the coffee can mufflers or some "boy racer" noise machine. On the other hand, a beautiful powerplant like the LS6 should not sound like an Audi either. The Corsa seems like a good solution. My only "complaint" is that the trumpets are a bit large for my taste. I would love to have the sound with a stock appearance, but that is just a matter of taste. For the music they produce, I'll overlook the style issue. rushguy 11-17-04, 02:55 PM My dealer put them on and from what the tech told me it was super easy for him. Installation was around 70 dollars if I remember correctly. cal05cts-v 11-17-04, 03:38 PM do all cadillac dealers install corsa?. does anyone know of a dealer in so cal that installs corsa? i purchased mine from renick i fullerton. i guess i should call and ask them...sounds like you guys are very happy with the corsa system. i think it is time for me to get the system also...
thanks, eric PneuBird 11-18-04, 01:01 AM I had my dealer install my Corsa Exhaust at the same time they were R&R the diff. They only charged me $75.00; that's a good deal in my book. Any future exhaust problems and the dealer gets to fix them for free!!! :yup: rushguy 11-18-04, 01:26 AM I could be wrong but isn't the Corsa considered a GM replacement part? Corsa guarantees it for life and if Caddy puts it on I would think your covered in any scenario. I had mine dealer installed. They did a nice job. I am thrilled with the end result. It is the sweetest sounding exhaust of any car I have owned (and I've had many) |
